POPSDoD Leak On Deployed Force Casualties Unpardonable investigations and charges of war crimes. ThreatsWatch will be utilizing its many military, intelligence, policy maker and administration sources to get to the bottom of what is proving to be yet another intolerable breach of confidentiality and information security at the highest levels of government. This clearly politically motivated and coordinated endeavor to sabotage future policy aims can be neither dismissed nor allowed to proceed unpunished. UPDATE: The “senior Administration official” noted above has now added to the damage by data on Iraqi force structure. “Iraqi forces now have 192 combat battalions in the fight – and more than 110 of these battalions are taking the lead in combat operations against terrorists and extremists,” the senior official was quoted as saying to reluctant media sources, now pressed into covering the developing and clearly organized and systematic intelligence leak effort.

POPSStroke the Rich
The IRS has become a subsidy system for super-wealthy Americans IRS winks at rich deadbeats. Because the news media focus on what politicians say about the tax system, rather than how it actually operates, few Americans realize that: -- Corporate income tax laws reward companies that move jobs offshore, allowing them to earn untaxed profits as long as the money stays offshore. -- Widespread cuts in health insurance and pensions for the rank-and- file are driven by a special law that lets top executives defer paying taxes for years, in a way that adds 35 percent to the cost of their bloated pay. -- The 2001 Bush tax cuts included a stealth tax increase on the middle class and upper-middle class that will cost them a half trillion dollars in the first 10 years and, for 35 million families, wiping out part or all of their Bush tax cuts. -- The stealth tax boost on people making $30,000 to $500,000 was explicitly used to make sure that the super rich would get their entire Bush tax

POPSGet a Grip on Your Cash In 2006 dollars, the minimum wage was $9.50 before the 1971 breakdown of Bretton Woods. Today that dollar is worth $5.15. Congress congratulates itself for raising the minimum wage by mandate, but in reality it has lowered the minimum wage by allowing the Fed to devalue the dollar. We must consider how the growing inequalities created by our monetary system will lead to social discord. The dollar today is worth only four cents compared to the dollar in 1913, when the Federal Reserve started. This has profound consequences for our economy and our political stability. Government officials consistently claim that inflation is in check at barely 2%, but middle class Americans know that their purchasing power--especially when it comes to housing, energy, medical care, and school tuition-- is shrinking much faster than 2% each year.

POPS$20m for schools 'pitiful' Parents have been conned into believing that school is of secondary concern to the more immediate needs of food, shelter and clothing. Govts take the attitude that as long as they do enough to prevent the outbreak of hepatitis, or similar, they won't be sued. Keep the slave class down at all costs

POPSUK educator decries domination of education by management-oriented language An Oxford professor examines the gradual takeover of all policy writing on education by the language of business management: "efficiency," "providers," "audits," "performance indicators," etc. This kind of thinking, he says, has gradually obscured any legitimate answer to the question of what education is really supposed to accomplish.

POPSCybercrime vs Cyberterrorism Sometimes, it is all about using the right words. Prioritization seems to be the problem in the US Government. National Strategy to Secure Cyberspace is still falling short according to GAO audits. DHS has not figured out how to get in front of this issue, as the executive agent. PITAC recommendation to President should be strongly considered to ensure the funds committed are spent wisely.

POPSHalliburton accused of $1bn overcharge
Something that We The People........had to pay for. Halliburton managers neglected water treatment for bases (80% troops had to shower in water tainted in cholera, thyphoid, malaria), All managers and secretaries provided with Escalades, H2's, and other expensive vehicles and just written off to the gov. H2's? Anyway, convoy trucks carrying supplies were never repaired when disabled, rather they were just blown up by the military and replaced with a new $75,000 trucks. Charged $100 per bag of laundry for troops, and the laundry came back worse than before as reported by troops. Food lines numbered in the hundreds at military bases because food was only served during daylight hours, instead of 24 hrs. a day to save money. Computers and any type of equipment intentionally ordered wrong and them burned in big fire pits just to bill the gov. ALL OF THIS WAS DONE BECAUSE HALLIBURTON RECEIVED A PERCENTAGE OF ALL EXPENSES AS PROFIT, SO THE MORE MONEY IT USED AND CHARGED TO THE GOV., TH

POPSNew York State audits the City of Rochester's fast ferry finances and bungling of fiscal oversight A friend and investment analyst for Manning & Napier, the area's most successful money management firm, mentioned to me in the fall of 2002, when the fast ferry had become a hot topic, only three ferries in the entire world ran profitably. Governments subsidized the losses of the others, ostensibly to provide economic benefit for the region, or at least, for politicians to associate their names with useful services and maintain their profile in the eyes of their subjects.
