Autism: A Unique type of Mercury Poisoning
Autism-Autistic
by Autism-Autistic  4-29-2008    2
Children with Autism tend react to Mercury. Their bodies see this, and many other substances as an allergen. This provokes an allergic response which we know known precedes an immune response. Eliminating an allergy to Mercury is simple and parents of autistic children can be taught how to do this procedure in the comfort and privacy of their own homes. Please don't dismiss this. DNA Allergy Reprogramming has already made incredible changes in autistic children. I feel I have a duty and a responsibility to share this with you as this is not talk - this is a solution!

Let's be REALLY Aware of Autism
graphictruth
by graphictruth  4-2-2008
This article, written in 2005, includes graphic images that speak of the roots and underlying assumptions of Applied Behavior Analysis. And yes, at one "snakepit school," autistics are still being shocked for being... autistic.

Slack is asked from us; we ask no more or less ourselves.
graphictruth
by graphictruth  6-26-2007
It's slightly ironic, of course, that the factions within the "curebie" movement are starting to get on one another's nerves, but then if they speak to each other with the same respect and consideration as they speak to and about actual autistics, it's unsurprising. However, as an aspie, my first reaction is to take this call at face value, and as an autism blogger myself, I will indeed try not to be too much of an ass toward those who are seeking "cures." I just hope they realize that it's not so much the autism as the side-effects OF autism that are their issue. Further, focusing on making it easier for autistics to integrate into society, communicate effectively and live somewhat independently is a more positive approach less likely to get folks like me and my friends at autistics.org all up in your faces.

Humor - so autism is on the rise? Where are all these kids? Why don't we see them? Perhaps you're not looking in the right places? Perhaps you don't recognise what you see? It's a learning curve for everyone.

Losing self-awareness by concentrating too hard
