U.S.-Georgia training begins amid Russia strain
paleblue
by paleblue  8-16-2008
Okay people once again its time to wake-up.. This was back in July! Remember, it was American backed Georgia that attacked Russian peacekeeping troops.. The Stock Market just experienced a sudden surge.. This is another set-up by the bankers and Govt.. Russia for understandable reasons isn't threatened by us -- we have no manufacture, infrastructure, money, troops for war .. We are all busy on the last Govt lie 911.. The outcome of this isn't good -- once again we are protecting an oil source (pipeline) that bypasses Russia to the west.. Russia supplies energy, resources to most of Europe so there WILL be NO support on this one.. But watch out I'd bet money Israel has a play in this somehow again as they sit back and watch while we get involved in yet more mess!!!!

What is the FDIC? Is your money safe?
schreibe
by schreibe  7-26-2008
This is a primer on what the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation is all about. =============================== The FDIC was created, over the vociferous opposition of its beneficiaries—the banking industry—in the dark spring of 1933, when 4,000 banks had closed. Francis Sisson, then-president of the American Bankers Association, thought the idea of having banks kick in to a fund that would insure individual banks against losses--and the entire system against the contagion of bank runs—was "unsound, unscientific, unjust, and dangerous." But it worked. In 75 years, no insured deposit—the current limit for a regular account is $100,000—has been lost

What Should Uncle Sam Do?
schreibe
by schreibe  7-25-2008    1
I like the sound of the phrase "socialized capitalism"..... Every time someone mentions that there should be more regulation of the greedy corporations, some ditto-head conservative yells "Socialism!". I gues they would rather have "Socialized Capitalism" in which the CEO's of these large corporations get to go home each year with millions of dallars in income, while the rest of us bail out their failed businesses.....nothing but greed and corruption!

Regulatory Reform Idea: Pay Regulators Like Bankers
Forbes Markets

The idea here is that you get what you pay for, even with government officials who have to regulate an industry where high pay attracts the brightest and best. In short, pathetic pay gives you pathetic regulation.

Mullahs Keep Fighting Us While Destroying Iran
merrie
by merrie  5-31-2008    1
against an official estimate of $45 billion. This sort of discrepancy typically occurs when capital flight is disguised as imports through fraudulent invoices and similar devices. A small current-account deficit would be of little concern for a nation with normal access to world capital markets, but Iran is unable to borrow. There is indeed massive capital flight. As I wrote a couple of years ago, Gulf bankers told me that they can’t handle all the money pouring out of Iran. Wealthy Persians long since saw the doom of the Islamic Republic, and have been looting the country’s resources for their own gain. They are printing money, further pauperizing Iranian workers–who are famously paid very late, if at all, as demonstrated by the ongoing demonstrations and strikes at government-owned companies– The message Spengler delivers is that there is no way out of this war. Left to their own devices, the mullahs will destroy Iran, and, if they can, us as well.
