POPSDK Politicians Oppose Offering Guantanamo Detainees Asylum Guantanamo Bay is an American creation. Trying to wipe off their responsibility to these people, onto their allies, is cowardly and pathetic. The released detainees should without a doubt be allowed to stay in America. It was the US, not us, who screwed up these people's lives. They broke it. They can fix it. .

POPSWhat is Blackwater Doing in Alaska? The Blackwater guards are nominally employed by Chenega, an Alaska Native corporation associated with the Alaskan coastal village of Chenega Bay, population 86. Alaska Senator Ted Stevens, architect of the “Bridge to Nowhere” and recently convicted of a seven-felony string of corruption charges, is one of the principal proponents of the anti-missile system and was also instrumental in writing laws which help secure government contracts for Alaska Native Corporations. Chenega gets contracts through the Small Business Administration, rakes off a percentage, then lets giant Blackwater provide the actual services. Since 2000 Chenega has received over $1.1 billion in sole-source or non-compete bids from the Army, Air Force and Department of Homeland Security. It's good to have friends in high places.

POPSSeadevils and Species Unknown "It was stranger than any imagination could have conceived," he wrote in "Half Mile Down" (Harcourt Brace, 1934). "I would focus on some one creature and just as its outlines began to be distinct on my retina, some brilliant, animated comet or constellation would rush across the small arc of my submarine heaven and every sense would be distracted, and my eyes would involuntarily shift to this new wonder." Beebe sketched some of the creatures, because no camera of the day was able to withstand the rigors of the deep and record the nuances of this cornucopia of astonishments. Colleagues reacted coolly. Some accused Beebe of exaggeration. One reviewer suggested that his heavy breathing had fogged the window of the submarine vessel, distorting the undersea views. More at source.

POPSObama's Instant Plans to Overthrow Bush Orders
One of Bush's methods of shredding the American Constitution was to abuse the power of what's called: "Executive Orders." Congress would pass some piece of legislation and Bush, in secret, would write a little memo saying he wasn't going to obey that law, or parts of that law. This is not how 'Executive Orders,' were suppose to work. Obama's team has spotted 200 of such abusive Executive Orders that Obama can instantly delete -- since Bush wrote these things all on his own Obama will delete them all on his own. Targeted for instant deletion: 1. Prohibition on stem cell research 2. Limits to foreign aid bases on another nations' contraceptive or abortion policies. 3. Approval of oil drilling in sensitive areas. 4. Approval of torture. 5. Various Bush directives that denied climate change And will close down Guantanamo Bay prison and will end policies of indefinite detention and denial of habitus corpus. & 190 other things. Just the beginning of why he deserved
