POPSAll Polls Indicate: Obama Wins Second Debate
Poll numbers and respectable expert opinion is overwhelming - but Obama's growing lead in the Electoral Collage growing by leaps and bounds. He's now estimated to have 264 electoral votes while McCain is estimated to only have less than 180. Yet a lot of talking heads yawn, say it was boring, or pretend that the baseball play-offs are more important (an effort at trivializing Obama's victories) -- and they continue to report smear and slander advertising campaigns against Obama as if it was news. As if a womanizer, crap shooter, ego manic ex-fly boy who confessed to war crimes in Vietnam and pleaded for special treatment when a POW is a better choice? There were real heroes in Vietnam but he wasn't one of them. And despite Vietnam being another undeclared war built on lies a soldier is suppose to be loyal and not give aid to the enemy. At least the smear, above, is based on truth; and we can't lose this election because Republican throw more *hit. BTW, debate a bit b

POPSNY in Black and White from Turn of Century This page of pics is one of the best I've seen on the Net. This just isn't a page of pictures - the creator knows history and buildings and weaves them in with the photographs. Definitely worth a look.

POPSEmanuel To Negotiate Three Presidential, One Vice President Debate With McCain Obama campaign manager David Plouffe on Saturday tapped close Obama friend Rep. Rahm Emanuel (D-Ill.) to negotiate debate details with the McCain team and the Commission on Presidential Debates. The bi-partisan commission has had debates on the drawing board for quite some time. While there is nothing to preclude the campaigns from having more, sponsored by others, Plouffe in his letter said that was unlikely.

POPSBig Brown's Stunning Belmont Loss and needed to be cooled off with buckets of water and sprayed with hoses after they ran. Co-owner Michael Iavarone said Big Brown had a thorough examination after the race and again Sunday morning. "There's nothing physically that's shown up," he said, speaking by cell phone from his daughter's soccer game on Long Island. "I'm as confused as anybody. The only thing we're resorting to right now is the track might have been too deep for him and he didn't like it out there." Iavarone said Big Brown's problem feet, other than a loose left hind shoe, were not an issue. "We're perplexed," he said. "Nobody can figure this one out." Without any obvious answers, it might take blood work and diagnostic testing, including X-rays, to figure out Big Brown's poor performance.

POPSThe Belmont Stakes Is All About Big Brown So, which one will apply to Big Brown? Some feel it will be the latter, but most believe it will be a stroll in the park. If Casino Drive does wind up scratching due to a stone bruise suffered yesterday, there will be those who feel that Big Brown once again defeated inferior competition and still has not solidified his greatness. If Big Brown runs off and hides from his opponents, few people will be surprised. Unlike Smarty Jones, Funny Cide, and War Emblem, Big Brown has no flaws when it comes to running style and the ability to adapt to any pace scenario. He also is push-button, which separates him from the aforementioned three horses. Triple Crown winner in 1978. Affirmed is the most recent Triple Crown champion.

POPS Big Brown Won't Be Racing At Four Iavarone refused to confirm reports that Big Brown's deal with Three Chimneys was worth $50 million. The record stud price was $60 million for Derby winner Fusaichi Pegasus in 2000 with Ashford Stud in Versailles, Ky. The next year, Three Chimneys brokered a $50-million deal for Point Given, winner of the 2001 Preakness, Belmont and Travers. In 2004, Smarty Jones ($39.4 million) also went to Three Chimneys after taking the Derby and Preakness.

POPS Romney Campaigns Throughout The Night The former Massachusetts governor, who tries to keep his body clock on East Coast time wherever he travels in the country, planned to sleep on the return flight, aided by a pillow, pink fleece blanket and inflatable mattress his campaign staff brought aboard in Oklahoma. His entourage, including his brother, Scott, and longtime friend, Bob White, spread out through the rest of the plane, one person on each side of the aisle across the 26 rows of seats. All were given blankets and pillows, along with a takeout dinner from the Outback steakhouse. "I mean, it's an honor, obviously, it's an enormous honor to even be considered as a candidate for president and to know that there will be hundreds of thousands and hopefully millions who will say, `You're the guy we'd like as our next president.' It's a very humbling honor," he added.
