Palestinian Christians Suffering 'Severe Blows' From Muslims...
jatfla
by jatfla  11-14-2008
I have read hints of this but never have I read where a Muslim himself comes out and announces this for all to read. I hope he has some *protection* somewhere. FTA: "Palestinian Christians are indigenous to the land and “no different from us, with the same rights and obligations” as Muslims."

McCain's attacks fuel dangerous hatred
glennbah
by glennbah  10-14-2008
John McCain and Sarah Palin, you are playing with fire, and you know it. You are unleashing the monster of American hatred and prejudice, to the peril of all of us. You are doing this in wartime. You are doing this as our economy collapses. You are doing this in a country with a history of assassinations.

AU Polices Politicking Churches
AtlLiberal
by AtlLiberal  10-11-2008    1
The watchdog group, AU, tries to keep churches in line that recently overstepped the boundary between church and state. Here's hoping the IRS gives the offending church's books a fine looking over. If they wish to engage in partisan politics fine but not on my dime.

Viewers' Perspectives...on Palin Leg Photo
jatfla
by jatfla  10-10-2008    1
It's what I would expect from the European press...meaning the ridiculous shots of women tennis players during major tournaments, and what you'd see from the tabloids at the grocery counters. I guess the Reuters photographer was bored or thought he'd try a new perspective. Have we seen Michelle's ankles with young men staring up through them?

The Sidewalk to Nowhere, McCain Supporters in Bethlehem, PA
monstersmom
by monstersmom  10-9-2008    2
I'm not even going to mention how wrong these people are regarding their political arguments. Why are people who are obviously not at work themselves deriding other people for not being at work? Seriously? That's just stupid. I wish I could feel more pity for these people since they are so obviously trapped in their own ignorance, fear and hatred. Really, where does that come from? Palin eats hate and winks while playing to the cameras, but McCain should be ashamed that he has fostered this.

McCain pushes $300 billion mortgage plan
rmowery
by rmowery  10-8-2008    1
I def. think he is Fracking high on something. First, this "plan" would piss off a lot of people who bought houses they could afford and would then watch others who bought houses they could not afford (granted given bad advice/loans) and have taxpayers bail them out so they can stay in homes they really should not be in, in the first place. If there had been oversight in the govt and better regulation, none of these people would be in the situation they are in because it would have been a crime for these douche bag mortgage brokers and others to pitch them and give them the loans. So now this guy wants to take another $300 billion on top of the almost trillion the tax payers have already put into this mess. What a fracking idiot.

Bye-bye Tax Exemption
AtlLiberal
by AtlLiberal  9-29-2008    4
The last part of the clip is telling. Replace the words "secularist" and "atheists" with Jews and Blacks. How does that sound to you now? Fear and prejudice is one way to get people to change their minds. As far as flaunting the IRS rules regarding non-endorsement of political figures from the pulpit, I say go right ahead but be prepared to lose your tax exempt status.

White poverty in South Africa
notareargunner
by notareargunner  7-26-2008    1
This belies the tainted history of exploitation by whites on blacks in Africa. I can imagine that a great percentage of these disenfranchised group would have been former Civil Servants, police and Armed Forces. The Real Estate industry is all but destroyed. Many of the whites, especially those from Portuguese extracts, have been in Southern Africa for 500 years. There pot of gold was the endeavour, the hard work and pure grind of existing in such a hostile environment. The turned nations into a virtual paradise, created stability and a place worth living in.I will always remember the last words said to me by my domestic. "Iche, I don't like Black Africa. No good, Boss." He ought to have known, he is a Malawian. If David Cameron really wants to know Africa, go talk to Jackson or the poor Whites. Better still, stay at home and solve the problems of the poor Brits.

Uri Avnery: Targeted killing hazarding cease-fire
Rasmus
by Rasmus  3-25-2008
It was obvious to all that the killing of Islamic Jihad militants in Bethlehem would cause the renewal of the Qassam launchings on Sderot. And so it happened. According to Barak himself, he was ready to risk Jewish lives today in order to take revenge on persons who may perhaps have shed blood years ago and have since given up their armed activity. ↗Deutsche Fassung

Christians Mourn Hizbollah Murder
righthand
by righthand  3-16-2008    1
Shehadeh, 45, was open to rival theological thought as he always carried a card with a Koranic verse on one side and a picture of the Virgin Mary and Jesus on the other. Yet it was mostly his crusading against corruption in the PA and Fatah as well as his support for locals that won Christian support. The reason he was popular was because he presented a symbol of those individuals who were engaging in resistance,' Awad said. 'People are seeing that Hizbollah has done what others have failed to do either by military operations or negotiations. If Fatah had been able to achieve real steps through negotiations, people would be following that and be feeling more proud of it and more supportive of it,' ...Guardian

Judea Today Another Consumer of Nature's Resources Born in Bethlehem An international scientific consensus has been reached, and it's not in Mary and Joseph's favor. Had the parents of Jesus been more proactive in raising their awareness, they may have considered such important factors as Judea's fragile environment and air pollution that only increases with every newborn child. No matter how amusing a set of small carbon footprints around the house may seem initially, potential parents should always remember that the footprints will only become bigger as the child matures and turns into yet another indulgent consumer of nature's limited resources.

Increased Hostility to Christians from Zionists
righthand
by righthand  12-30-2007    1
"Palestinian Christian leaders have sensed increased hostility toward their ministries and institutions on the part of Israeli authorities and Jewish settlers. During Holy Week 1990, militant settlers took over St. John’s Orthodox Hospice, adjacent to the Church of the Holy Sepulchre, with the support and protection of Israeli police. The Israeli government initially denies its involvement until Israeli journalist reported that the Housing Ministry, directed by David Levy (now the foreign minister) had secretly channeled $1.9 million from government funds to help underwrite the venture. This fact has now been confirmed, as has the fact that an additional $2.2 million was raised, and was laundered through a Panamanian bank. Such government-sanctioned illegalities directed against the Christian community leave a bitter taste for Palestinian Christians. Meanwhile, the settlers remain in the building, whey they are reconstructing, while the case enters a second year of legal delays."
