POPSEndNote Web I just updated to EndNote X2.0.1 build 3514 and was invited to create a free EndNote Web account. Free, or trial? I'll find out. I've been testing it and it's fantastic! I also installed the Firefox extension that lets you send references directly to EndNote Web with a click. Firefox 3 required a forced install. I'll do some testing after I restart.

POPSScholarly Electronic Publishing Bibliography The Scholarly Electronic Publishing Bibliography (SEPB) presents selected English-language articles, books, and other printed and electronic sources that are useful in understanding scholarly electronic publishing efforts on the Internet. Most sources have been published between 1990 and the present; however, a limited number of key sources published prior to 1990 are also included. Where possible, links are provided to works that are freely available on the Internet, including e-prints in disciplinary archives and institutional repositories. Note that e-prints and published articles may not be identical.

POPSBibSonomy BibSonomy is run by the Knowledge & Data Engineering Group of the University of Kassel, Germany. This system is intended to support everyone, but in particular researchers, in sharing bookmarks and bibliographies. One main reason is that we have to deal with bibliographic data all the time, needed a more coherent way to manage our bibtex data. Another - even more important - reason for setting up BibSonomy is that social resource sharing systems are very popular nowadays, but do still lack theoretical foundations. Our aim is to tackle the research challenges that arise around systems like BibSonomy, and to provide more sophisticated support for tasks like browsing, searching, ranking, and community discovery.

POPSGreek Bibliography of the 19th century "The retrospective Greek national bibliography of the 19th century is a collective work, as is every ambitious bibliography project, based on the long preparatory work undertaken by distinguished scholars and obscure bibliographers. Its foundations were lain by the three-volume Greek Bibliography 1800-1863, by Dimitrios Ghinis and Valerios Mexas (Athens, Academy of Athens, 1939-1957), in combination with successive series of addenda over the same period, which were introduced by C. Th. Dimaras from the pages of the journal Eranistis (a periodical publication of the Society for the Study of the Greek Enlightenment). The work was later taken up mainly by the Tetradia Ergasias of the Institute for Neohellenic Research of the National Hellenic Research Foundation."

POPSWerner Herzog Official Site In the Alan Yentob produced documentary about Werner Herzog, the filmmaker says "Oh, nobody cares about my work." We do. Speaking for myself, I often sit there looking at the clouds and pondering upon his genius. He is arguably the greatest filmmaker alive today and without doubt one of the most influential. His "Nosferatu" with Klaus Kinski is one of my favourite films of all times; a masterpiece.

POPSAlternate History: What Ifs Best site for a thorough definition of what is and what is not "alternate history," and a nice bibliography of key stories and novels that fit the criteria. Most interesting is the fact the author separates Alternate History from Secret and Hidden History which explore more conspiratorial theories and ramifications of History by design instead of a divergent history. Not just for fans of the genre but serious Historians have written essays on "What If' as key events in history may have gone askew,,,

POPSUseful Background to One State Solution This is a particularly thorough wiki page which introduces an overview of the one state solution to the Palestinian-Israeli situation, and has many links to detailed advocates and critics. From mainstream mass media one would be totally unaware of the many initiatives and ideas for peace by actual Palestinians and Israelis who do not follow the agenda set by the dominant powers.
