POPSNovember 1/2: All Saints Day / All Souls Day / Day of the Dead A very interesting time in many countries. A biggie in Poland. If you check out the links on this site, you'll see that this is a time of remembering and a time of partying. I can't find the reference, but I remember hearing that there are more drunken driving deaths and arrests during this time of the year than any other in Poland

POPSI Have Learned I HAVE LEARNED that sometimes when I'm angry I have the right to be angry, but that doesn't give me the right to be cruel. I HAVE LEARNED that it's hard to determine where to draw the line between being nice and not hurting people's feelings and standing up for what you believe. I HAVE LEARNED that money is a lousy way of keeping score. I HAVE LEARNED that sometimes when my friends fight, I'm forced to choose sides even when I don't want to. I HAVE LEARNED that if you want to cheer yourself up, you should try cheering someone else up. I HAVE LEARNED that it's taking me a long time to become the person I want to be. I HAVE LEARNED, reading what people write on desks (or clips) can teach you a lot. I picked some, that were relevant to me. There are many more at the source. Oh, and last but not least; I HAVE LEARNED never try to baptize a cat. And I have photo evidence to prove it.. .:)

POPSThe Male Brain, Explained "We have been assuming that the ways in which emotions are organized in the brain are essentially similar in men and women," but they aren't. Parts of the limbic cortex, which is involved in emotional responses, are smaller in men than in women. Additionally, scientists at McMaster University have found that guys have a smaller density of neurons in areas of the temporal lobe that deal with language processing. Appreciate his naturally upbeat nature Does he seem to be "up" most of the time? It's not your imagination: Male brains produce 52 percent more serotonin (the chemical that influences mood) than female brains, according to a study done at McGill University. And studies show that fewer men than women suffer from depression. Remember his brain is his largest sex organ The preoptic area of the hypothalamus is greater in volume, in cross-sectional area and in the number of cells. This area of the hypothalamus is in charge of mating behavior.

POPSI think, therefore iPod " if the devices we use are artificial extensions of our minds, then they could be enhancing our cognitive powers more than they are diminishing them. Technology means I forget fewer birthdays, not more, for example." i find this debate fascinating. i for once support that which will assist me crossing borders of perception and limitations.

And Afghani People. What a disgrace we are--'Merrikans should be deeply ashamed. Is this what you would call a victorious war that solved anything, Willhelm?

POPSX, Y, Z of genders :) Professor Carey Cooper, a psychologist who specialises in sex differences at Lancaster University, said: "It is probably a combination of the genetics and hard wiring of the brain together with the social imprinting of gender that has led to the behavioural differences we now see between men and women."
