POPSBarack Obama Criticizes Fox News: Neil Cavuto Takes Exception aying 'I am convinced that if there were no Fox News I might be 2 or 3 points higher in the polls.' He goes on to say, 'If I were watching Fox News I wouldn't vote for me, right? Because the way I'm portrayed 24/7 is as a freak. I am the latte-sipping, New York Times-reading, Volvo-driving, no-gun-owning, effete, politically arrogant liberal. Who wants somebody like that?' Of course, just because we challenge some of your economic assumptions senator, we say nothing about whether you like lattes or not. Um, it's just putting up with a little bit of the heat that maybe you're not getting in the media kitchen."

POPSMcCain security ousts black reporter "We're deeply concerned and disturbed that our reporter — of all of those in that area — was asked to move," Gabordi said. "My understanding is that Stephen was the only reporter approached and asked to leave the area, and the only reporter in that area who is black. Another reporter who stood up for Stephen was then asked to leave." No bias there.

POPSText Message To Capture Team, "I am with KSM" His cooperation came in fits and starts, and interrogators said they believed at times that he gave them disinformation. But he talked most freely to Martinez. The intelligence riches ultimately gleaned mount to a detailed history of Mohammed's initiation into terrorism along with his nephew, Yousef; his plotting of mayhem from Bosnia to the Philippines and his alliance with Osama bin Laden. Mohammed also claimed a role in a long list of completed and thwarted attacks, including the beheading of Pearl, the Wall Street Journal reporter Martinez told colleagues that Mohammed volunteered out of the blue that he was the man who killed Pearl. Intelligence analysts eventually were convinced because Mohammed pointed out to Martinez details of the hand and arm of the masked killer in a videotape of the murder that appeared to show it was him. For now, Deuce Martinez teaches other CIA analysts the arcane art of tracking terrorists.

POPSSlavery By Another Name I saw Douglas Blackmon, Wall Street Journal reporter and author of "Slavery by Another Name", on the Tavis Smiley Show tonight. I had never before heard about neo-slavery. According to Blackmon, the South was culpable; the North was complicit. Modern companies, including US Steel, profited. The system didn't come to an end until the 1940s, "partly due to fears of enemy propaganda about American racial abuse at the beginning of World War II." 13th Amendment be damned, this sale of "convicts" to private enterprises to pay of "debts" was perfectly legal until 1951.

POPSWho wrote Ron Paul newsletters? Reason is a libertarian magazine that has been very supportive of Ron Paul. He is even on the cover of the current edition. And according to the work done by this reporter, Ron Paul claimed he was the writer in 1996. And even if he was lying about who wrote them back then (which I find highly unlikely), he still spent a lot of time defending what was written and even repeated some of it to the media claiming it was all about context.

POPSParis Hilton out of prison for medical reasons All that I can say is..... Unbelievable. If she really did have a VALID medical condition, it would have kept her out of jail in the first place. So much for ".. and justice for all" on an equal level. The perks of the "aristocracy"... If Paris were a young black male from the south side of Chicago, the jail sentence would have stood at the original sentence. disclaimer: I am not a young black male from the south side of Chicago, nor am I a communist, marxist, or any other political "-ist". I'm just a "regular guy".

POPSWhy royalty sucks This is from a 1991 news story about Queen Elizabeth II's visit to the US. For a photo opportunity, she visited an elderly black woman's government-subsidized home in Washington, D.C., and the woman violated etiquette by hugging the queen. In a follow-up story, Alice Frazier told a reporter that ``If I was a queen I`d try my best to bring everybody together and let them know that we all were created equal." Obviously, Elizabeth Windsor disagrees with her. This was inspired by gzyra's clip that touched on the ridiculous etiquette surrounding the Dalai Lama ("Never turn your back on him. Don't touch him. Don't speak to him unless he speaks to you.").

POPSTorture in Iraq under Saddam's Rule This is my last clip about conditions and life during Saddam's rule compared to the present situation. It's regarding a senate request to see evidence of the torture in Iraq. This isn't the beheading videos we've probably all heard about and maybe have seen, these are hardcore tapes that I never even heard about. Reporter Nick Schultz does an excellent job to describe the tapes to allow us to understand how horrific they are and why they are truly important for every adult to know about and watch. Forget war for oil. This is evidence enough for anyone with a speck of humanity to realize we did the right thing to free Iraq. You may not like the way we went about it, but weapons of mass destruction seem minor if you have to stomach to watch the videos. (I'm not clipping them). Do yourself a favor and read the article.
