How can any right-minded person think this woman is Vice-Presidential material? Imagine the uproar if Michelle Obama was revealed to have joined a black nationalist party whose founder preached armed secession from the United States and who enlisted the government of Iran in his cause? The Obama campaign would probably not have survived such an explosive revelation. Particularly if Barack Obama himself was videotaped giving the anti-American secessionists his wholehearted support just months ago.

POPSThe Right-Wing Solution Same-sex unions haven't undermined or destroyed the economy or the noble institution of marriage--it's straight people breaking their marriage vows. And I defy anyone to name one straight marriage that was broken up because of all those gay unions performed. So why have these homophobes failed to turn more Americans against gays? Because the truth is, deep down, most Americans are fair and tolerant people. This hate speech will eventually fail just like every other attempt at lasting discrimination in this country has eventually failed because--bottom line--when confronted with the basic choice of equality or inequality, the vast majority of Americans will choose equality. God Bless them.

POPSDancing At The Bar I'll never forget the first time I went to a gay bar with my straight friends. Bless their hearts; they loved me so much that they wanted to take me there and they knew I didn't have the guts to go alone. Such good intentions. So, it was a mixed club scene with gays and lesbians and of course the curious straight crowd. What struck me was the feeling I had when I walked through the door. It was a homecoming of sorts for me and of course I kept that to myself. I frantically looked around and wanted to see if anyone noticed my reaction, but my friends were all too busy making fun of the queers in there. They leaned over to me and said "You aren't a freak like all these people debby; you aren't!" Somehow they thought that was a compliment. But I was exactly like everyone else in that bar on the inside and when they were making fun of others, they were making fun of me too.
