POPSHow low can Republicans Go? It's bottomless! I swear these people, the Republican people, who run elections have no soul. I know, sadly, there's enough dirty tricks to go around in all the political persuasions. But the Repubs really know how to pull off the dirtiest of dirty tricks, without blinking an eye! I wonder why that is? Is it because they believe rules and laws are meaningless when it comes to getting their party the winning prize? Or maybe they just have been mentally brainwashed and have become barbarian brutes, due to using, low blows for so long they can't tell RIGHT from WRONG any longer? I believe it's the latter, with also, quite a bit of truth in the former. Read about how they (repubs) wish to use the house addresses of those unfortunate individuals who have had their shelters, their family homes, confiscated by foreclosure, so they would be disqualified from voting because they no longer lived at such address. Calling it disgusting is way too mild.

POPSTo Blink Or Not To Blink Make no mistake, Sarah Palin knows what it is like to put a moose in the crosshairs and not blink. She knows what it is like to take on members of her own party and not blink. She knows what it is like to take on the challenges of family and not blink and I am pretty comfortable with the fact that when it comes to advancing the cause of liberty and freedom around the world as an ambassador of this country in the role of Vice President she will never blink. The real issue is that when you look at the four people in this race, who do you feel most understands you, understands where you are coming from and what you are going through. The fact of the matter is that whomever wins this race will have the knowledge and the wisdom of others to draw from. So the issue becomes less about who is ready and more about who you believe won't blink in the face of our enemy and our challenges and who has the humility to listen to those they have assembled around them.

POPSThe 10 Commandments of Facebook This is the internet, after all, and if something on the internet can be used in an annoying way, you can safely assume that 99% of the population will proceed to do so (go try reading a comment on YouTube if you don’t believe me). People need rules to tell them how to act. Luckily I went to the top of Mount Internet last night, and God handed me down these 10 Commandments of Facebook for all to obey. Follow them or you’ll go to hell.

POPSSoftware predicts where El Niño will strike next By applying the technique to climate records from 1979 to 2005, the team found that the majority of these links are stable over time, forming a "skeleton" to the world's climate. Yet it's the weaker links, which break and then reform, that are of more interest. Under normal climate conditions this happens only occasionally, but disturbances from an El Niño event cause the links to "blink" on and off every few weeks. The location of the blinking links reveal where the El Niño is having an influence, he says.

POPSUS Military and Gov't Resisting Iran Conflict "Red light": The military brass are resisting, even with Admiral Fallon out. The consequences would be huge, including on gas prices, military drain, and upheaval in the entire middle east if Iran was attacked by Israel with US support. Even Secretary of Defense Gates said : "There is a lot of signalling going on. But I think everybody recognises what the consequences of any kind of a conflict would be," Gates said. Problem: hard to contain Israel and the neoconservative administration, namely Cheney who is a rogue operative with Israel. ( Sources said that Cheney was behind the B-52 nuke displacement scandal, by-passing normal chain of command).

POPSOn Petraeus' Counterinsurgency Guidance That's all well and good, but it's just unfortunate that no such organization exists. I'm still not sure why we keep asking the Army and Marine Corps to do such a thing. Back before the insurgency in Iraq started, it was commonly known that the purpose of the Army was to "break things and kill people." Therefore, if that wasn't your intent (the thought went), then you shouldn't be utilizing the Army. As far as I'm concerned, that still should be a general rule. If we can't "kill our way out of this endeavor," then we need far less reliance on the military to fix Iraq. Because that's what the military does.

POPSBush Begins Preparations For Nation's Final Year "Our great nation will be a shining, then blinking, then slowly fading beacon to the world," Bush said. "As our time as a sovereign country with borders and currency comes to a close, let us hope we will be remembered for all the great things we accomplished, and not for the 1960s."
