POPSIs Wordpress Doomed? Google buys self-hosted blogging software company. Yet again, Google buys another software suite in order to compete in a market that doesn't directly involve search engines or search related tools. I haven't quite made up my mind on whether this is good news or bad news. On one hand, more competition in the self-hosted blog software market is always a good thing and can only help make the tools we use better through that competition. On the other hand, while I realize that there is money to be made in this deal, doesn't anyone else think that Google is getting close to over-diversification with all their non search engine related purchases over the past several years?

POPSPosterous is Minimal Effort Blogging I know I can always turn to DemoGirl when it comes to finding cool and useful online tools. Here's a great screencast of super easy blogging platform Posterous . Similar to Tumblr , but even easier to use, I can definitely see a growing audience for this and perhaps other no-brainer blogging platforms. Thanks for the tip, Molly!

POPSYour CV online and interactive Such a great idea. I once watched a video online about a French graphic designer, I think, who animated his CV with him as the main character. It was such a grand idea, but I can't find the link anymore

POPSMcCain Campaign: Comment Trolls Wanted From the article: "You might be thinking, "What's in it for me?" As a matter of fact, for every comment the McCain verifies, you will awarded McCain Action Center. Which is important, because in Fantasy Land 2013, those things will replace the dollar as American currency." Great! There goes the Interwebs! Lets clog up all those tubes, shall we!

POPSBlogger in the House Malaysian uber blogger Jeff ooi made history recently by being the first person to use his blogging as a platform to enter politics - and the Malaysian parliament. So what happens when you have a blogger in the House of Representatives? He blogs and tells all about the proceedings there. Will this change the behavior of politicians? Will this constant stream of posts and updates bring about a welcome change to the Malaysian Parliament, or would it dissipate into the ether? Time, as the cliche goes, will tell.

POPSCorporate IT Disruption I know this post is from last October, but I was reading it again, and just had to link to it. There are some great take-aways for traditional IT types to learn from.

POPSIndy Colts Coach ready to blog It is great to see a technology-aware NFL organization jazzed enough to inspire their stoic head coach into self-publication. NOTE: Having seen the inside of the pre-Beta site, I think the imminent release of MyColts.net for public consumption is premature. At the moment, it seems to be a social site OF Colts fans, not a site FOR social Colts fans. Big difference. Still, this concept has a bright future, and Pay Coyle (et al) should be congratulated.
