POPSObama Addresses 9/11 Government Complicity Bush says this, "For example, Khalid Sheikh Mohammed described the design of planned attacks of buildings inside the U.S. and how operatives were directed to carry them out. That is valuable information for those of us who have the responsibility to protect the American people. He told us the operatives had been instructed to ensure that the explosives went off at a high -- a point that was high enough to prevent people trapped above from escaping." Bush talks about EXPLOSIVES in building "Seven is Exploding" NYFD say Explosives brought down Towers

POPSFinancial Rescue Efforts Miss Mark "Linneman also chided federal officials for instilling panic rather than confidence in the public. He described what he regarded as a steady stream of blunders, ranging from the Bush Administration’s sky-is-falling rhetoric to Congress’ rejection of the original proposal supported by party leaders. As the recession grinds on, the retail sector will take a hit from slower spending by consumers, even the more affluent people on the spectrum who are relatively unaffected. There will be a certain number of stores shuttered by weaker retailers; however, Linneman said, “The real problem is you don’t have many store openings. The hospitality and office sectors will also slow, and distribution centers will hold up fairly well, even though demand will eventually fall off there as well."

POPSCouric Hides Embarrassing Palin Tape CBS is getting a little too cozy with Republican candidates in exchange for exclusivity. This goes against journalistic ethics and just plain good common sense. There have been several other signs of favoritism by Couric and CBS towards the McCain campaign which smacks of CBS becoming a media machine for the Republican party. Palin is reported to be unable to name another Supreme Court ruling aside from Roe v Wade; and she floundered on simple American political history questions taught to middle school students. The fact that Palin somehow graduated from University of Idaho with a minor in political science makes these flounderings and blunders unacceptable as a Vice Presidential candidate. The Republican Party should hang its head in shame. I wonder how she would do on the TV show "Are you smarter than a 5th grader?"

POPSHow the democrats Created This Financial Crisis It is rediculous to see the democrats trying to blaime the GOP for this mess. It is clearly their fault by opposing this bill which would have prevented the Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac collapse. And to vote for ZerObama would assure more blunders at home and abroad.

POPSBut, John, You Can't Fire the SEC Chair One of the biggest myths of the current presidential campaign is the competence of John McCain. He makes elementary blunders often (like thinking that the Pime Minister from Spain is located in Latin America). Some are now speculating that something is "up" with his capacity to reason. It might be more charitable to simply point out that he graduated second-to-last in his class for nothing.

POPS911tm - Republicans believe 9-11 is their trademark.
At THEIR OWN CONVENTION, they used it AGAIN as a prop to bolster their standing amongst the American voters. A PROP OF FEAR! This party of disservice has no shame and they will go on and on lying, misconstruing and whatever it takes to keep power. They care not for this land that so many have died for. They live, breath and sustain only with one objective, to stay on the course of power whether or not they destroy the very thing they wish to control. It's time for all who THINK, who truly want the best for our country because we know it will belong to so many who will come long after us, to say ENOUGH! If this actually does not happen this election time around we may be a country so weakened by the avaricious blunders of the right-wing, we will become easy pickings for the power brutes of the world. Our epitaph will read... HERE LIES A ONCE POWERFUL, PROUD COUNTRY, BROUGHT DOWN BY THE UNSCRUPULOUS, WHO LIVED UPON ITS VERY SOIL, WHILE TURNING IT TO STONE. thinkingblue.blogspot.com

POPSQuotiki: social quotes I've been hoping to find a replacement for BigCite, a nicely designed social quotation site that vanished some time ago. This might be it. Collect, share, tag, and save quotations. Fully Web 2.0-compliant with widgets and all that.

POPSJoe Biden's Really, Really Big Brain He also said that he ”ended up in the top half” of his class and won a prize in an international moot court competition. In college, Mr. Biden said in the appearance, he was ”the outstanding student in the political science department” and ”graduated with three degrees from college.” Well, if we measured political IQ, Biden might barely show up on the scale. As Dionne notes later in the article, Biden got one degree from college, a double major. He didn’t get a full scholarship to law school; he got a partial scholarship and received grants to cover the rest. He didn’t graduate in the top half of his class, as he asserted to “Frank”, whose IQ score has been lost in the mists of time. In fact, Biden came in 76th in a class of 85, which isn’t even close.

POPSMinding Mistakes: How the Brain Monitors Errors and Learns from Goofs Where in the brain does the ERN originate? Using functional magnetic resonance imaging, among other imaging methods, researchers have repeatedly found that error recognition takes place in the medial frontal cortex, a region on the surface of the brain in the middle of the frontal lobe, including the anterior cingulate. Such studies implicate this brain region as a monitor of negative feedback, action errors and decision uncertainty—and thus as an overall supervisor of human performance.

POPSGeorgian blunders lead to quick defeat "In light of the combination of fundamental tactical shortcomings and serious strategic blunders in the Georgian campaign to retake South Ossetia, it seems clear that the flaws in Georgian military planning were based on two key factors: an over-confident assumption of its own combat readiness and capabilities, as well as by a serious underestimation of the scale and scope of the Russian response."

POPSMcCain Blunders Again on Foreign Policy The "Iraq-Pakistan Border"? No expert on foreign policy clearly, or even geography. McCain made a big deal about going to Iraq many times before Obama, but he apparently did not learn very much about its location. Maybe that's how he got his plane shot down in Viet Nam.

POPSBush Sounds Like an Idiot -- Again Its an oldie but still a goody. They probably have an archive of this chimps ideology. And then there is Mrs. chimp making monkey faces while Georgie makes a monkey of himself and the American way.

POPSPentagon Missing Nuclear Missile Components Missing: 1,000 nuclear missile components. The Pentagon "shrugs" and says "it's just paperwork...good enough for government work". This article focuses on the response from the Pentagon after the story broke in the Financial times here. Clearly the military and federal government themselves are the greatest security risk. The Pentagon also cannot account for $15 billion in Iraq. Why must Americans keep giving them more when they never manage well what they are allocated? (See the clip "how Congress spends your money)
