POPSLytham St Annes not cyclist friendly These few pictures tell only part of a stupidity act that would not go amiss in the circus at Blackpool Tower. The lanes run all the way from the Blackpool border, through the metropolis, but the only ones who cannot use them are cyclists. Why? Because parking is permitted on/in them. Strange or what? And this is a council who can only close things down, like the public swimming baths, the boating pool, the cycle lanes. I wonder who votes for these far sighted geniuses? Stalin, Goerbels, Mussolini or the morons who have never done a days work in their lives?

POPSEnglish Bulldog Is A Hero: Saves Kittens From Lake Napoleon got a much deserved hero’s welcome at the adoption center as crowds gathered to praise the brave bulldog and cuddle the rescued kittens. English Bulldogs are notoriously bad swimmers. With a giant head and chest compared to a lighter tail end, they have a tendency to go bottoms up in the water. It’s hard to keep that head up above the waves when it’s the largest part of your body! Most owners are very aware of this problem, and will take care to see that their dogs have a good life vest on if they’re going to be boating or there’s a chance the bulldog could end up in some deep water without someone right at hand to save them if they look like they’re starting to struggle. Rick Sanchez’s lead-in to his next segment just now on CNN: “Wesley Clark tried to Swiftboat John McCain today.” I’m liveblogging. He goes on to say: “It will reverberate for weeks. Wes Clark tried to diss McCain’s military record, that his service doesn’t qualify him to be president.” Rick Sanchez is mad. No, not mad…just a huge partisan hack. Now that “swift-boating” has entered the vernacular, let us remember that the original SwiftBoat Veterans for “Truth” were for the most part neither in their hope to take down Kerry’s candidacy. Has Wesley Clark in some way made any untrue allegations in saying that being a POW and a non-combat era fighter pilot does not necessarily qualify you for the highest elected office in the land?

POPSUh, Who Cares What Religion Obama Is? Evidently this "issue" has captured the imagination of religious people around the US. Maybe they're not familiar with Article VI of the Constitution. The Senators and Representatives before mentioned, and the Members of the several State Legislatures, and all executive and judicial Officers, both of the United States and of the several States, shall be bound by Oath or Affirmation, to support this Constitution; but no religious Test shall ever be required as a Qualification to any Office or public Trust under the United States. The popular view today would seem to be that this article was simply a "suggestion".
