POPSAAE Declares Victory over 'Eco-Terrorists' Typical 'us vs them' rhetoric but this group takes it too far. I am all for breaking our dependence on foreign oil, but current oil shale extraction technology is too water intensive, environmentally destructive, and too expensive to be considered a viable alternative to foreign oil. Any oil that is extracted will be sold to the higher profit markets overseas and we Americans will still be faced with high pump prices in addition to ruined landscape. Oil shale production requires lots of fresh water that is currently being used to irrigate food crops and ranch land which means producing oil will come at the cost of food production.

Of the six youths — ages 13 to 17 — charged in the case, five pleaded guilty to manslaughter and were sentenced to time in the California Department of Corrections' Division of Juvenile Justice, Lonergan said.

Come'on Lt. Grande, Fess-Up and explain to the good people of St. Lucie County why you RESIGNED as Lt. Grande from the Pahokee Police Department rather than be TERMINATED by Pahokee's then City Manager because you told the City Manager you wouldn't arrest drug dealers and users because you felt "everyone did drugs" and therefore you couldn't be bothered enforcing narcotics laws. Tell everyone how it felt when the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office District Commanders ordered you to surrender your City issued Badge and equipment. Tell them "Lt. Bobby Grande"...tell them what you've been doing for employment (and why) since you resigned from the Pahokee Police Department...go ahead...explain it to everyone in St. Lucie County by telling the truth about your sympathetic stance toward druggies. Don't want to do that Lt. Grande? Then I suggest you immediately de-activate your candidacy for St. Lucie County Sheriff rather than wait for your inevitable and disgraceful defeat.
