POPSPrivate Benjamin Or GI Jane? Brutal Bridal Boot Camp First we're all measured and weighed. I'm here for one reason only - to look my best in my wedding photos. However, my BMI (Body Mass Index) is just about spot on as I'm 5ft 3in and 8 stone, so I'm told I might struggle, having less excess fat to draw on for energy. dinner is made up of strictly controlled (ie meagre) portions of soup, a small piece of salmon and a few strips of vegetable. The hard work starts tomorrow with circuit training on the lawn at 6am sharp. I turn in feeling hungry and anxious. Standing on the scales on the final morning, I've lost five pounds, and an inch from my thighs and hips. One of the other girls has lost a whopping 12 pounds and dropped not one, but two dress sizes. The Camp gave me the bridal body I had hoped for, and equipped me with the know-how to stay trim well into my married life. But most impressive of all, I survived the week.

POPSWhy Having Big Buttocks Is Good for Your Health Working on mice, the team transplanted fat from one location of the animals' body to the other. Subcutaneous fat removed to the abdomen triggered body weight and fat mass losses, and a decrease in blood sugar levels. The rodents also got more responsive to insulin, the hormone controlling the way in which the body metabolizes sugar. Insulin resistance triggers the type 2 diabetes. When visceral fat was placed to other body regions, it induced no effect.

POPSToday's Broad Is A Kick-Ass Woman "But, maybe yesterday's broads, and the modern climate change, have given rise to a new female form: the kick-ass woman. That would be: Helen Mirren, Christiane Amanpour, Tina Fey, Melissa Etheridge, Sarah Silverman, and not least Queen Latifah, who comes closer to the broads of yesteryear than just about anyone. Sure, kick-ass women may avoid trans fats and teeter around on ridiculously high heels at red carpet events, but they know who they are, and so no one would (or at least should) think of asking them to be something they're not. I bet they'd make Mae West proud."

POPSOvereating disrupts web of genes. They say perhaps they can develop drugs that will solve the problem.? Perhaps sensible eating would be a good idea. We don't have any idea of the effects of a bad diet on our genes, amongst many other things. Many of these effects are no doubt passed down to the children.

POPSChildren and Obesity "Parents should start encouraging more family play time and incorporate this as a weekly family tradition. Children should spend less time watching DVD's and playing Video games and rather utilise their time participating in school sports and socialising with other children,"

POPSObese People to Be Banned By Miss. Restaurants This is hysterical. I know I have an obese cousin who is eating himself to death. My aunt is aiding and abetting. Instead of not letting overly obese people in restaurants, they should force all of them to join Weight Watchers or wire their mouth shut. That was sarcasm for those who didn't know. I am tired how we are constantly trying to babysit people that are old enough to vote. They know the dangers of overeating, smoking, drugs, etc., so there is nothing we can do but let them realize the mistakes they are making on their own. It's ridiculous this bill was even thought up in the first place.

POPSProof that the secret is... Not what you eat or do but how you respond to everything. That means keep the stress down. You won't stress about how to pay the bills if you live within your means. You won't stress about your relationship if you truly wait for the right love of your life. You do not have to be wealthy to be rich, for there are no better riches than a good, clean life.

POPSWife to fat for New Zealand Imagration Richie Trezise managed to trim two inches off his waistline, the Daily Mail reports, bringing his BMI down and allowing him to take the first step toward the couple's dream of resettling in New Zealand.
