POPSA 2008 post-election promise More: No presidential candidate in my lifetime has inspired me as much as has our new President-Elect, Barack Obama. On election night, in the spirit of unity and conciliation, he asked us to “resist the temptation to fall back on the same partisanship and pettiness and immaturity that has poisoned our politics”. He asked us to remember the values we all share, and he promised that he would be the leader of all Americans, not just the ones whose support he already has. In this same spirit, I wish to refrain, at this historical moment, from pointing out that your first major prediction for the post-Obama world — that angry coloreds would riot in the streets — has utterly failed to come true. Now is not the time for blame. Now is the time to put one another at ease, not to put one another on edge.

POPSThe Socialist Who Compared Americans to Nazis less than nine months prior transitioned from Clinton to Bush, to Hitler's. http://www.wbez.org/audio_library/od_rajan01.asp#010118 With her husband holding radical views like this about our nation, it's no wonder why Michelle has such a hard time being proud of her country. It's the company you keep. comments Let us remember, Nazi is short for "Nationalsozialistische Deutsche Arbeiterpartei" which translates to "National Socialist German Workers' Party" (emphasis mine). In short, the Nazis were Socialists. Plain and simple, even the full name says so. Posted by: C-C-G at October 28, 2008 06:07 PM

POPSMore reasons not to trust McCain on Ayers - Despite McCain's misquotation, did not say after 9/11 that he wished he had bombed more - never was involved in killing anyone - all the regrets he has expressed about his involvement in violence - charges were dropped because of government misconduct - been honored by and served with many prominent Republicans

POPSGreat Terror Plot Building in UK (to Coerce Legislation) Do you recognize this pattern? Timing is everything, isn't it? How convenient for legislative purposes to motive the "necessity" of draconian laws, which Parliament just rejected, and now must be punished for to change their minds. The stunning speech came after the Government failed to extend the powers of special terrorism laws. This is right out of the BF Skinner psychological model of stimulus-response training, a form of training any animal to even torture indoctrination, using threats or rewards. The US might have something like this announced too before the Nov elections, as usual, since the Economy has trumped the usual "terrorism" and "national insecurity" issue that worked so well for Bush. (Bin Laden always makes a pre-Halloween video tape which SITE conveniently finds and the MSM parrots for headlines on Drudge). Fear is a powerful weapon to obtain "consent" to reduce liberties.

POPSSpecial Comment: Control Your Campaign, Senator McCain Senator McCain -- these... people... are... speaking... for... you! And how dare you try to claim Congressman Lewis was linking you to Governor George Wallace's segregation. He was linking you, aptly, to Governor George Wallace's lynch-mob mentality.

POPSWeather Underground: Honoring the Cops They Killed Ayers, who has long held a position as a college professor in Chicago, has a surprisingly nefarious past. He happens to be the founder of a domestic terrorist group called the Weather Underground, which he has written about extensively in his own memoir, Fugitive Days: A Memoir. The Weather Underground was responsible for bombing several government targets throughout the 1970s and early 1980s, including the U.S. Capitol, the Pentagon, and a building used by the New York City Police Department. To finance their domestic terrorism activities the group also conducted “traditional” robberies, which occasionally led to murder. What you don’t usually hear in modern-day news coverage of the group, is that three of those murders were of police officers killed in the line of duty.

POPSMcCain Volunteers Instructed to Accuse Obama of Terrorism The Time article tells us: With so much at stake, and time running short, did not feel he had the luxury of subtlety. He climbed atop a folding chair to give 30 campaign volunteers who were about to go canvassing door to door their talking points -- for instance, the connection between Barack Obama and Osama bin Laden: "Both have friends that bombed the Pentagon," he said. "That is scary." It is also not exactly true -- though that distorted reference to Obama's controversial association with William Ayers, a former 60s radical, was enough to get the volunteers stoked. "And he won't salute the flag," one woman added, repeating another myth about Obama. She was quickly topped by a man who called out, "We don't even know where Senator Obama was really born." Actually, we do; it's Hawaii.

POPSObama Campaign Offended By McCain's Pejorative Pronouns
But Obama's not offended by William Ayers and Bernadine Dohrn! "The Weathermen" as Dohrn's faction was now called, began a series of direct actions against the American government. As a result of an accidental explosion during the preparation of a bomb destined for a US military dance hall, which killed several members of the group, Dohrn and other Weathermen went underground. For half a decade, Dohrn and the Underground carried out clandestine actions, largely bombings, against the U.S. government. She is well-known as the signatory on the Weather Underground's "Declaration of a State of War," which formally declared war on the U.S. Government. Dohrn and others also co-wrote and published the subversive manifesto Prairie Fire, and participated in a covertly filmed propaganda documentary, Underground. Dohrn later married former Weather Underground leader Bill Ayers. http://www.answers.com/main/ntquery?s=Bernardine+Dohrn&go_button.x=33&go_button.y=7

POPSJohn McCain's Terrorist Ties Liddy also said he should have recommended shots to the groin instead of the head. If that wasn't enough to inflame any nut cases, he mentioned labeling targets "Bill" and "Hillary" when he practiced shooting. Given Liddy's record, it's hard to see why McCain would touch him with a 10-foot pole. On the contrary, he should be returning his donations and shunning his show. Yet the senator shows no qualms about associating with Liddy -- or celebrating his service to their common cause. How does McCain explain his howling hypocrisy on the subject? He doesn't. I made repeated inquiries to his campaign aides, which they refused to acknowledge, much less answer. On this topic, the pilot of the Straight Talk Express would rather stay parked in the garage. That's an odd policy for someone who is so forthright about his rival's responsibility. McCain thinks Obama should apologize for associating with a criminal extremist. To which Obama might reply: After you.

POPSA Better Strategy on Opium in Afghanistan The statistics are bleak and we are pursuing typically myopic policies in Afghanistan. Hitchens (whose writing I think is superb) makes a great case for a different approach. "in the short term, hard-pressed Afghan farmers should be allowed to sell their opium to the government rather than only to the many criminal elements that continue to infest it or to the Taliban. We don't have to smoke the stuff once we have purchased it: It can be burned or thrown away or perhaps more profitably used to manufacture the painkillers of which the United States currently suffers a shortage. (As it is, we allow Turkey to cultivate opium poppy fields for precisely this purpose.)"

POPS Palin Goes After Obama-Ayers Connection Gov. Sarah Palin unleashed a new attack on Sen. Barack Obama, accusing him of "palling around with terrorists" for his association with former 1960s radical William Ayers. The Obama campaign immediately denounced the attack as "shameless" and "offensive." "Americans need to know this." Palin cited a front-page article in today’s New York Times that explored the ties between Obama and Ayers. Obama had served on a charity board with Ayers in Chicago during the mid-90s, and Ayers was present at an organizing meeting in 1995 to kick off Obama's first election campaign for the Illinois State Senate. "There has been a lot of interest in what I read, and what I read lately well, was reading my copy of today’s New York Times and I was really interested to read about Barack's friends from Chicago," Palin said. "OK, now I get to bring this up not to pick a fight, but it was there in the New York Times, so we're gonna talk about it.

POPSNYT: Obama "not close" to Ayers Hokum alert: Despite new smear ad, which fails to mention that Obama was 8 yrs old when Ayers was illegal, that Ayers is a trusted advisor on education to the City of Chicago, and that Ayers wrote "My memoir is from start to finish a condemnation of terrorism, of the indiscriminate murder of human beings."
