POPSCapitalism isn't a love story More: Let's be clear here. What we are currently practicing isn't capitalism. It's a perversion of the original system, designed within a rigged system, set to benefit a few. And innovators like Yunus and Hertz are primed to lead us into a brave new market - or they would, if we were willing to listen.

POPSGeldof Sick of Scroungers I asked Sir bob if he had felt like this for so long why he had organised Live 8, he replied "its like when your partner always asks you to do something, the washing up say, you finally do it but do a really bad job and then hopefully you'll never be asked to do it again, that's why I hired Ricky Gervais, Madonna and let U2 release some doves I knew it was shite its what I wanted!" So another 1st: I finally uncover the real reason Live 8 was so shockingly bad. Geldof says, " To be quite honest, people like me and Bono etc. are just a bunch of self-serving fuckin' Irish gits, talking total shite and lining our pockets in the process".

POPSEnough is Enough!!! Free the Scott Sisters! I've personally taken the time to look into this case. I've read through the court transcripts.... the whole thing makes me sick! I'll gladly share more links for anyone who reads this, and finds it disturbing enough to investigate on their own.

POPSU2 Drummer: The Rich Need Hugs, Not Hate In general, all human beings need hugs, not hate. Even the haters need hugs. The U.S. isn’t Ireland, of course. But populism is clearly rising on both sides of the Atlantic. And when left-leaning super-groups start defending billionaires, you know maybe things have gone too far.

POPS1,201 Page Climate Change Bill HR 2454 Not Read or Debated Not Voting were: Jeff Flake, AZ-6 John Sullivan OK-1 Constitutents of Jeff Flake may wish to inquire why he was not able to vote today. Cong. Sullivan was on one month’s leave for treatment of an alcohol addiction. It’s interesting to note that Cong. Patrick Kennedy (D-MA) was taken out of alcohol rehab for the purposes of voting. Dems apparently felt passing this bill was more important, or perhaps more doable, than sobering up a Kennedy. 300 Page Amendment to 1200 Page Bill Added at 3:09AM

POPSA Case of Mistaken Identity - Bono & Sex Change "If one child in Africa was happier because I became a woman, I would go through with it," said Bono. "It doesn't matter if I'm a man or a woman. The only reason I exist on this planet is to save it. And wear women's sunglasses."

POPSDC Smackdown: Advanatge Cheney While the President's speech was the longer one, this length did not make it more thorough - in fact, there are so many holes in his remarks it is difficult to keep track of them all. He maintains that his decision to use military commissions is not a reversal of an earlier position because it is supposedly improves on the Bush Administration approach to the use of military commissions. But as the Wall Street Journal pointed out recently, under the Bush Administration, detainees already were the beneficiaries of pro bono legal representation from top-flight, white-shoe law firms. The President tells us that decisions in the past were made out of "fear." This is a straw man argument, meant to denigrate the President's opponents without acknowledging that perhaps, just perhaps, they made their arguments in good faith.

POPSThe Web of Language But in 2004 the FCC started going after stations not just for repeated obscenity, but also for any single off-hand f-word, for example when Cher said of her critics during a Billboard Music Awards show, “So f*** ‘em,” or when Bono said during the Golden Globes, “This is really, really, f***ing brilliant.” Cable is not covered by the rule, nor are FBI wiretaps, so when Illinois ex-Gov. Blagojevich called his power to sell Pres. Obama’s vacated senate seat “f***ing golden,” his use of an expletive wasn’t illegal, though that proved to be the least of the indicted governor's problems.
