POPSWorld's weirdest experiments Funny to read :-) You can try a variation on the 'white bear' experiment: Just put down the paper and don't think about CLIPMARKS for a while. But don't say you weren't warned. CLIPMARKS, once not invited in, can be devilishly hard to get rid of.

POPSYour Doughnut Addiction Explained More: When sugar water was substituted for the saccharin solution, the results were the same, researchers said. "Intense sweetness is more rewarding to the rats than cocaine," said coauthor Magalie Lenoir of the University of Bordeaux in France. Lenoir said mammalian taste receptors evolved in an environment that lacked sugar and so were not adapted to the high concentrations of sweets found in the modern diet. Excess sugar could increase levels of the brain chemical dopamine, she said, leading to a craving for sweets.

POPSTraveling with Wine I have had (knock on wood) great success when I wrap wine bottles in straw beach mats, bubble wrap or several cotton sarongs. I always put the bottles in the middle of my largest suitcase and surround them with my shoes (especially great if you are a Crocs fan), and surround that tidy cocoon with clothes and other goodies. Works great!

POPSLight Can Bend Liquid Further research is now needed to determine whether this light-driven flow could advance 'microfluidics' – that is the science of controlling fluid flow through channels thinner than a human hair. Conventional microfluidics techniques use channels etched into computer chips to control fluid flow. While this is a relatively easy process, Zhang said, a laser-driven microfluidics system might allow researchers to make more rapid adjustments.
