POPSGallup Daily: Obama Back in the Lead I'm not yet vindicated, but I'm halfway there. I've been saying that McCain's numbers are a post-convention bounce -- that they'd come down again. I've also been saying that McCain knows this and that's why he's not acting like a candidate who's winning . McCain is trending downward and, although bad economic news probably doesn't help, that trend began before Monday . As it has been throughout, this election is Barack Obama's to lose.

POPSWhat Palin Does 9.Democrats used to raising charges of racism against Obama’s critics may face charges of sexism and/or condescension if they try to diss her. 10. Steps on Obama’s claims to have been a reformer, as he reformed nothing (much less the corrupt mare’s nest of Chicago arrangements), while she was a dragon-slayer up in Alaska. 11. As a mother of five, one a Down Syndrome baby, helps her side take on the Democrats on abortion extremism and the Born Alive bill. 12. Reignites the deep and unhealed stresses inside the Democrats, some of whom will now wonder more loudly than ever why they didn't pick Hillary. 13. Counters Michelle in a way Cindy couldn’t. 14. Counter-intuitively, makes the issue of Obama’s light resume more potent than ever. Her lack of experience is no more than his is. And he’s--to use a term from Alaska, and the Iditarod--their lead dog.

POPSHow your inner athlete makes you smarter
also from article: Even when we are sitting or lying down, our bodies send our brains regular updates about how our limbs are positioned. When we, say, stand and begin walking, these electric messages need to be sent more often. (Knee is bent, straight, bent, straight ...) Move fast enough and the electrical activity doesn't have time to dissipate between each message. It begins building up in the brain and eventually triggers a release of chemicals called growth factors. Growth factors are like manna for neurons. "They make neurons stronger, healthier and improve their ability to learn," Cotman said. In the presence of growth factors, new neurons are born and old ones sprout, grow and form better connections with each other. Blood vessels blossom along side the neurons, giving them quick access to glucose and other nutrients. All this, in turn, improves our ability to think, learn and remember. As Cotman said, exercise "builds the pipes" for improved cognition.

POPS How The Stealth F/A-22 Raptor Works
The F/A-22 is the world's first stealth air-to-air fighter, designed to be unseen at long range and deadly in close-in air combat. It can also strike ground targets with precision accuracy. maneuverability in the air. Radar works by sending radio waves out from an antenna and collecting the waves that bounce back from any objects. On a radar screen in an aircraft or in a ground-based radar station, an airplane appears as a blip. The larger the aircraft, the larger the blip appears on the screen. Aircraft designers have worked for years to minimize the radar signature of an aircraft. If the radio waves are deflected or absorbed so they don't return to the radar antenna, then the airplane is invisible or could be mistaken for a flock of birds or other non-threatening object. Aircraft designers use a jumble of curved surfaces and other design tricks to deflect radar waves in unexpected patterns. Planes are painted with thick paint that can absorb radar waves instead of reflect th

POPSS&P Bear Market May 27, 2008. It is expected that a short market rally is about to end and we are soon to see a rough summer in the markets. I will consider shorting the market by the end of the week.

POPSTravel Photography: What to take in your kit? • Tripod - I tend not to travel with a tripod or monopod these days ...Instead if shooting in low light I tend to find fence posts, use my camera bag or find other stationary objects along the way to support the weight of the camera. Some use the mini tripods that are all the rage these days, but they tend to be best with lighter point and shoot cameras than larger and heavier DSLRs. • Point and Shoot - some DSLR users back a compact point and shoot camera as well. This is for those nights when they hit the town and don’t want to haul all their gear around with them but want to record the night. This is a bit of a luxury and indulgence really but if you’ve got the camera and want the flexibility - why not?

POPSBefore the Big Bang - the Big Bounce Now, however, Dr Bojowald and fellow physicists are exploring territory unknown even to Einstein - the time before the Big Bang - using his new theory, called Loop Quantum Cosmology. An analysis of this, one of a series of newly-emerging theories which combine Einstein's theory of gravity (general relativity) with that of the subatomic world (quantum theory), "is supposed to provide a non-singular framework in which one could address the question of what was there before the Big Bang," he says.

POPSFuser: Out of the [In]box Technology For the sake of total transparency, I will say first that Fuser is a client of an agency that I work with. Beyond that, this new development is a tool that I will definitely use. I'm experiencing overload just with Outlook accounts; Throw in my Facebook and other social networking activity and its become nearly impossible to manage my mail... but Fuser definitely gives me hope. This mashup of everything the Web 2.0 innovators have set up over the past few years is a new model that I think we will be noticing a lot of in e-business.
