POPSThe Vampire's ghost of Guadalajara Maria was always an inquisitive girl. She liked to poke and prod around everything she encountered ever since she was a young child. Her family had lived on Nardo street in Guadalajara, Mexico all of her young life. Like most of the children in her neighborhood the streets were their playground and she had explored every nook and cranny of the streets that surrounded her home. One spot that truly fascinated her was the cemetery that was only a few blocks away

POPSRue Morgue: Horror Writer's Dream Rue Morgue is the last magazine that is in hard copy being printed today in the US. Their e-zine sight is ok but it holds nothing to the mag itself. To get your short fiction published here as a horror writer is a very wonderful occasion... One I hope to jave again one day!

POPSBuffy St. Marie This is dated and the quality is lacking but the emotion still shines through. If you're not familiar with this artist this is a decent introduction.

POPSRecast.... Buffy Buffy is one of my all time favourite shows... whenever I'm bored or need a break from study, out comes an old ep of Buffy. Anyways, stumbled across the Buzz Sugar recast challenge, and thought I'd give it a go (although, I really couldn't replace any of them!!) Buffy: Kirsten Bell (Veronica on Veronica Mars) Xander: Adam Brody (that guy on the OC) Willow: Tina Majorino (Mac on Veronica Mars) Giles: Hugh Laurie (House on House) Spike: Ed Westwick (Chuck on Gossip Girl) Yes, I realise there's a little overdose on ex-Veronica Marsers in there.... but I loved that show too, and actually saw Veronica as a new Buffy, and Mac as a new Willow.... they were obvious choices for me.

POPSFrom Buffy to Group Sex This is mostly a review of Dushku's new film "Sex and Breakfast" and discusses her acting career. There is a side panel photo slideshow entitled "The women of Whedon" for your enjoyment.

POPSLawyers drive stake into Buffy singalong Buffy the Vampire fans were going to a screening of a musical episode of a show, dressed as their favorite character, as people did for the Rocky Horror Show picture show. Lawyers decided this was going beyond the licensing agreement. Apparently the people had been able to enjoy themselves without spending much money. Fox has since registered the idea, and included singalong clauses in all contracts- just in case

POPSWitchcraft not wicked "The overall finding was that teenage witches are engaging in witchcraft for positive life affirming reasons. (It) helps them make sense of the issues they are experiencing," Professor Ezzy said. "They are not fighting demons, as is sometimes displayed in popular media. Really there is nothing to be afraid of. The amount of witches is now roughly the same size as Mormons."

POPSJoss Whedon on women and violence - real and fictional This was posted at whedonesque.com in May, but I missed it at that time. It's an amazingly hard-hitting and heart-wrenching essay by Joss Whedon (he of "Buffy," "Angel," and "Firefly"/"Serenity" fame) regarding how the world views women, the scourge of misogyny and what we can try to do about it. I would *highly* recommend this essay to anyone.

POPSCrossover fun in the Wold Newton Universe Like fiction? Like alternate reality? Like thinking about Buffy Summers being descended from a line of superhumans? Read within... for a "theory of everything" as it applies to heroic (and apparently, villainous) characters.

POPSWelcome To The Hellmouth Here in the UK it is now officially the 10th of March, which means it is time to celebrate the 10th Anniversary of that little show that could, "Buffy The Vampire Slayer". Expect to see a lot of postings about this around the net over the weekend, I found a nice article over on Flakmag.com that is previewed below, click through for the whole article. It takes a look at the legacy that Joss Whedon created through this show, a legacy that I hope we continue to feel the benefit from for at least another 10 years. If you come across any other articles celebrating this anniversary that you think are worth reading please give them a link in your comments, or just let us know how you first came into the Buffyverse. In the meantime, go watch some "Buffy"!

POPSHeath and Jake Are Number 1 Smoochers Although I am not one to give a whole lot of thought to who engaged in the hottest Hollywood kiss, it is still nice to know that we have come so far in our society that Jake and Heath could even be considered in the contest.
