POPSGreens Pave Way for Republican Comeback
than most other sorts of development, whether they be new or expanding suburban communities, roads, farming or a green energy projects -- like wind farms, solar panel fields, and cellulosic ethanol plants. Consider, for example, how much “fragile” environment would be disturbed by T. Boone Pickens’ plan to build the largest wind farm in the world on 400,000 acres in the Texas panhandle. While the Greens say they support Pickens’ effort, in what way is the Texas panhandle less fragile than the Utah desert? Last spring, the BLM placed a moratorium on solar power projects to be built on public lands, pending environmental impact studies. The necessary transmission lines and water use might disturb the native vegetation and wildlife, says the BLM. But the solar power industry screamed bloody murder and the moratorium was soon rescinded. Given that the Greens oppose oil and gas drilling everywhere, the rest of us -- especially congressional Republicans --

POPSObama's Instant Plans to Overthrow Bush Orders
One of Bush's methods of shredding the American Constitution was to abuse the power of what's called: "Executive Orders." Congress would pass some piece of legislation and Bush, in secret, would write a little memo saying he wasn't going to obey that law, or parts of that law. This is not how 'Executive Orders,' were suppose to work. Obama's team has spotted 200 of such abusive Executive Orders that Obama can instantly delete -- since Bush wrote these things all on his own Obama will delete them all on his own. Targeted for instant deletion: 1. Prohibition on stem cell research 2. Limits to foreign aid bases on another nations' contraceptive or abortion policies. 3. Approval of oil drilling in sensitive areas. 4. Approval of torture. 5. Various Bush directives that denied climate change And will close down Guantanamo Bay prison and will end policies of indefinite detention and denial of habitus corpus. & 190 other things. Just the beginning of why he deserved

POPSNuclear smackdown in New Europe
Medvedev also sees the war in South Ossetia as symptomatic of a larger and more deeply-rooted problem. Medvedev: “A barbaric aggression against South Ossetia and the global financial crisis – two very different problems which nevertheless have common traits and a common origin...A local reckless enterprise provoked a rise of tensions far behind the region’s borders, in the whole of Europe, in the whole world. It called into question the efficiency of international security institutions and practically destabilized the basics of the world order. The lessons of mistakes and crises of 2008 proved to all the responsible nations that it is the time to act, and it is necessary to radically reform the political and economic system." Medvedev is right. The present architecture for global security needs to be thoroughly revamped as does the global financial system. Unilateralism, preemption and the Bush Doctrine have only made the world a more dangerous place. So, too, Wall Street's disp

POPSObama Will Reverse Bush Executive Orders Mr. Podesta is John Podesta of the Center for American Progress. Another order being reviewed is the EPA's ruling on stricter emissions standards for California. Pretty much every president does this, but expect special interests on the right to howl anyway.

POPSAl Gore: Climate, Economic Crises Have Same Solution From an op-ed in the NYT . Writes Gore, "Looking ahead, I have great hope that we will have the courage to embrace the changes necessary to save our economy, our planet and ultimately ourselves." It makes sense. Rebuilding our infrastructure to deal with global warming would also be a huge jobs program and a boost to help create new industries. All of this Bush stuff about dealing with emissions being bad for the economy is BS. It's always been BS. I keep saying it's the buggywhip industry complaining about those newfangled horseless carriages. There's no reason to listen to these people. They're just backwards looking defenders of dying industries.

POPSMcCain says let try that tatic again He's learned so much from the Bushes and when juniors tactics were falling flat lets try something that worked so well for Daddy Bush. My Friends, I'm so sorry I had to go back on my promise but with the continuing presence in Iraq and the new war in Iran I had too. We tried to negotiate in good faith but the Iranians would not meet our precondition of accepting Israeli rule. Oil company profits are dropping because of unexpected expense of offshore drilling and the massive cleanup needed on the west coast, so the taxpayers will have to bail out the oil companies. Sorry my friends. On the positive side my friends in health care insurance industry are posting record profits. Sorry but sometimes Mavericks have to take a detour.

POPS“A Second 9/11″: An Integral Part of US Military Doctrine Seems to me such talk is only a sign of an act that would be known about in advance reminiscent of Pearl Harbor which strangely enough Paul Wolfawitz said was needed to happen to get us involved with this amazing want of oil in the MiddleEast thus 911.. Saying that our Govt. has sold us out and is in with both 911 and any attack thereafter.. If you think I'm wrong you better do some reading and make sense of what our govt. has done to prevent and investigate 911.

POPSIraq Condemns U.S. - Demands Quick Withdrawal
It's clearer now that Bush's false war for false reasons is going down the toilet. It seems one of the oldest civilizations in the world is not falling for USA junk food treaties. Apparently the people who started the skill of writing can read. There's much more to this story/clip than just the headline: all big time, bad news for Bush. For what the Bush Administration and military wanted: The rest of the article is even worse, . #1. Iraq wants U.S. troops out by the end of 2009. It how now firmly rejected a clause the U.S. Military wanted, an option to extend the occupation to 2011. #2 It wants sole discretion to put U.S. soldiers on trial for any crimes they might commit -- something the U.S. will never agree to. #3. It wants to inspect U.S. military shipments into Iraq, another things the U.S. military or Navy would never agree to. These terms, right here in this clip, spell out F-A-I-L-U-R-E for Bush's War in Iraq and it's ongoing scams for Oil. It'

POPSThe World That Awaits This is a sobering moment in American history. You'll begin with a good deal of popular support, but mandates must be replenished. I suggest you think of the Oval Office as a classroom, and explain to the American people what we need to accomplish and what it will require. Some 21st-century version of the fireside chat is called for. My reading of things is that the American people are ready to be leveled with. Once the campaign is over, let the leveling begin. POPSIraqis have money but lack know-how in spending it Bilions?? Excuse me isn't this the country we are fighting for? Didn't Bush say that the surplus from the oil was going to pay for this?? You want to know the funny part? MOST Americans won't even see this article cause its not mentioning the new Yankee stadium or the fact that Beyounce wants to be called a different name now.. what freakin idiots!!! Meanwhile the bankers have us fighting back and forth on how much Palin spent on her clothing.. I can't believe this and to kick it even further there are idiots out there looking to push this further by voting for McCain!! argh!! If I could afford the next space flight with the Russians I'd go and not come back!

POPSWhat if SNL Mocked Michelle (hate America) Obama With complete media bias assisting ZerObama's election efforts, with hundreds of millions illegally coming in from overseas (Arab) sources, isn't it amazing the Wonder Boy isn't ahead by 20 or 30 points? The race is tied because Americans are coming to realize His Holiness is selling snake oil.

POPSWas McCain a Socialist in 2000, Obama Asks Red-baiting is a 2-edged sword. And while I' at it, I will interject an argument I heard one commenter make on TV tonight: Sarah Palin is the most socialist governor in the US. After all, her state publicly owns its oil fields, it leases those fields to oil companies and the state provides each Alaskan with a check from the rent the state charges the oil companies. If Palin wanted a true capitalistic arrangement, she would support selling the oil fields to private concerns. But she doesn't. Does anyone think, therefore, she is a commi?

POPSWhistleblower cites cult of corruption in Dept of Interior agency He received the Interior Department's highest award in 2003 for his work. But not long afterward, his job was killed. He believes it was retribution for his cracking down on Big Oil and blowing the whistle on what he believes was a "cult of corruption" within the agency. The Interior Department denies that, saying his job was reorganized as part of routine restructuring. Just before he lost his job, he said, one of his superiors in Washington ordered him not to investigate why Shell Oil had raised its oil transportation costs. Maxwell said it jumped from 90 cents to $3 a barrel without adequate explanation. The government paid Shell to transport oil from offshore platforms.

POPSOhio Plumber Confronts Obama on Taxes - Get Marxist Answer Wake up America! Every so often this slippery character lets something slip. Do you want this ultra-liberal to "spread your wealth around"? He might not raise your taxes per se, but there are many ways your will feel taxed to death. Repeal of Bush's tax cuts. Death tax. Take the FICA cap off. Increase fuel tax. Tax the oil companies (which will result in dramatically higher fuel prices at the pump), etc. etc. It will be a grave mistake to bring this trojan horse into the white house. The only ones who will benefit will be blacks and illegals.
