Here are several examples of much more egregiously violent images from the left that are apparently no big deal. (The videos may not show up properly; click through to see them on YouTube.) The Malkin link has many more examples, some of which are pretty disgusting. As much as the left likes to portray conservatives as violent thugs who are just itching for an armed overthrow of government, I challenge anyone to find a similar quantity of violent imagery from mainstream conservatives. The Daily Kos map, on which Gifford is ‘targeted,’ uses bullseyes. Ahem. Lastly, Sarah Palin does a great job of responding to the ongoing slander without wading into the muck herself. Apparently, he hopes that by reminding the world that he is not George W. Bush, America will be better liked. But without a strategic vision, "Bush did it" leads nowhere - given that most of the world's problems predated and transcend Bush. Obama doesn't seem to understand that wanting people to like America is only a means to an end, not a policy in itself - and an especially dubious means, given the character of many nations in the world today. Nor does Obama comprehend that global tensions often reflect fundamentally different views of the human condition, rather than simple miscommunication or clumsy diplomacy - and so can't be solved by serial apologies. Aren’t what these guys were charged with federal offenses? These thugs were allowed to get away with threatening voters at polling stations and hate crimes. The acting Assistant Atty General for civil rights Loretta King, a career senior executive service official named by President Obama to temporarily fill the position, ordered a delay after a meeting between political appointees and career supervisors.
