POPSGOP Sen.: Electoral Rout McCain's Fault Am I the only one who sees that freedom and "religious-based values" are often contradictory? After all, the Taliban has "religious-based values." DeMint in his own words: McCain, who is proponent of campaign finance reform that weakened party organizations and basically put George Soros in the driver's seat. His proposal for amnesty for illegals. His support of global warming, cap-and-trade programs that will put another burden on our economy. And of course, his embrace of the bailout right before the election was probably the nail in our coffin this last election. And he has been an opponent of drilling in ANWR, at a time when energy is so important. It really didn't fit the label, but he was our package. I totally called this . DeMint -- and a lot of GOPers -- believe they lost because they weren't crazy enough. Good news for Democrats in future elections.

POPSOlbermann-Matthews "Bad Blood" Breaks Out Again Let's keep clear about that -- KEITH OLBERMANN : No he didn't. He didn't. He didn't change his mind on that. MATTHEWS: Don't buy the blue-plate special from anybody. OLBERMANN: I've read the document! MATTHEWS: politicians all my life. Don't believe them all. And don't believe everything they tell you. Boys, boys: can't we just all get along? :D

POPSMcCain Solicits Russian U.N. Ambassador It is illegal for an American political candidate to accept campaign contributions from a foreign government. "It was just a mistake. We don't solicit folks who can't give," said McCain-Palin spokesman Brian Rogers. Asked whether there were any other ambassadors that they planned to solicit, Rogers laughed and said, "I hope not. Maybe we'll find out tomorrow."

POPSMichelle Obama Demands Racial Loyalty From African Press Intl.
. . . in the spotlight. How sad for him to go out like this. We know he respects and admires John McCain. We know, from campaign finance records, that Powell contributed the max individual contribution allowed to McCain, not to Obama as the race progressed. But, as soon as he said it wasn't about race, he blew his game. Michelle Obama, the Closer, was earlier in the campaign in charge of setting the talking points of the day on the trail. She told audiences she has never been proud of her country until her husband was doing well in this race, that America is a mean country, and that she's just a regular working mom. API is "an international news agency headquartered in Norway with 19 corespondents in North, East, West and South Africa as well as in the United Kingdom. It is widely respected for its political independence and even handedness." That description from Rudi Stettner. http://www.rudistettner.com/2008/10/michelle-obama-invokes-racial-loyalty.html

POPSPalin's spending $150,000 for clothes illegal!? Well...how about that? I think it was illegal, a violation of the laws of how you can spend money raised for an election campaign. If people give you bucks to run for mayor or president or something, you just can't go out and buy a car for yourself. But can you buy clothes? I don't think so...and the stupidity of this is that there are all sort of way to play tricks with accounting or finding a loophole and there would have been no questions asked. Other than the question, of course, of how could you spend $150,000 for clothes. Apparently, this is even more than McCain's famous Joe the Plumber paid for his house. Nothing like putting down Obama for being an elititst and say your working for the average Joe the Plumber, and doing it in a $2,500 dollar jacket. (one of her purchases).

POPSSmall-Dollar Campaign Finance Fraud Is So Passe' Good on the Obama campaign for noticing a contribution that exceeded federal limits by 7,500% (exactly 7,500%, oddly), especially since noticing glaring irregularities hasn't been their strongest suit thus far. The Obama fundraising machine may owe its sensational success in part to a relaxation of standard online merchant security practices, which has allowed illegal donations from foreign donors and from unknown individuals using anonymous “gift” cards, industry analysts and a confidential informant tell Newsmax ... The Obama campaign has turned a blind eye to the possibility of donor fraud. Reportedly, during the heated primary battle with Hillary Clinton, the Obama campaign “turned off” many of the security features on its online donor page, allowing any person with a valid credit card number to donate using any name or address. http://www.suitablyflip.com/suitably_flip/2008/10/obama-turns-bli.html

POPSFreddie Mac Paid $2 Million to Target Republican Senators In 2005 Freddie Mac paid a consulting firm $2 million to target Republican Senators to kill legislation that would have regulated the institution and perhaps save it from collapse. In a letter written to then Majority Leader Bill Frist, Sen. Chuck Hagel and 25 other GOP Senators warned: ""If effective regulatory reform legislation ... is not enacted this year, American taxpayers will continue to be exposed to the enormous risk that Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac pose to the housing market, the overall financial system and the economy as a whole." Little did they know that they were being done in by their own colleagues under the influence of an intense lobbying campaign. This is yet another smoking gun.

POPSWeather Underground: Honoring the Cops They Killed Ayers, who has long held a position as a college professor in Chicago, has a surprisingly nefarious past. He happens to be the founder of a domestic terrorist group called the Weather Underground, which he has written about extensively in his own memoir, Fugitive Days: A Memoir. The Weather Underground was responsible for bombing several government targets throughout the 1970s and early 1980s, including the U.S. Capitol, the Pentagon, and a building used by the New York City Police Department. To finance their domestic terrorism activities the group also conducted “traditional” robberies, which occasionally led to murder. What you don’t usually hear in modern-day news coverage of the group, is that three of those murders were of police officers killed in the line of duty.
