First Stage of Global Cooling During 2008/09
amgumen
by amgumen  8-28-2008
Mr. Dilley of Global Weather Oscillations has found seven different types of recurring gravitational cycles ranging from the very warm 460,000 year cycle down to a 230 year recurring global warming cycle. All of the gravitational cycles coincide nearly 100 percent with 2200 global warming events during the past half million years. This includes the earth’s current warming cycle which began around the year 1900, and the first stage of global cooling that will begin during 2008 and 2009.

Global Warming caused by sunspot cycles says David Icke
firstteam
by firstteam  7-10-2008
There are many interesting views given by this charismatic speaker but I took interest in his point that Global Warming is caused NOT by carbon emissions and industralisation and related activities. He showed a graph that related global temperature to sunspot cycles. It is something that scientists need to take into account and rebut or are they not telling us the whole truth? Would be glad to hear from some scientists or those who know this topic enough. I have a POLL at my forum at http://forum.mikeang.net or more directly to the post at http://bigbro.mikeang.net (though that is about big brother - but would be glad to have your opinion).

Perspective on Temperature
Rustee
by Rustee  6-27-2008
Many questions remain to be answered regarding the real significance of anthropogenic carbon dioxide as a climate forcing factor and related rising sea level consequences projected by the I.P.C.C. First, there is no incontrovertible evidence to support contentions that pre-industrial carbon dioxide levels were consistently lower than the 380 ppm recorded now. More than 90,000 published measurements carried out between 1812 and 1961 indicate that atmospheric levels were actually rising before the Industrial Revolution. They reached about 440 ppm in 1820, dropped to about 390 ppm by 1855, and rose back to about 440 ppm by 1940.

Hundreds of scientists reject global warming

Anybody who believes man can destroy what God has made is a fool. God created a system that can maintain balance on its own. The earth goes through natural cycles and there's little man can do but adapt.

The Ocean's Unforeseen Genomic Bounty
Moonowler
by Moonowler  7-9-2007
Scientists can extract the genetic material from a drop of seawater and then sequence that DNA, deriving genomic clues into all the organisms living in that environment. Researchers focused largely on analyzing new protein-coding sequences, rather than on identifying specific microorganisms, because the variety of DNA made it difficult to assemble into single genomes. (DNA sequences generated from a drop of seawater contain fragments from the genomes of many different microorganisms. Scientists liken this to trying to put together a puzzle from a box containing a few pieces from a thousand different puzzles.)

"The thing doesn’t mention is that there are 2.4 billion people in India and China who have launched a campaign that will increase their energy consumption by a factor of 10. No matter what we do. If we somehow cut our CO2 emissions in half, you wouldn’t be able to measure the difference because of the role played by India and China."

Be careful not to confuse the natural events and natural cycles. While both has caused ice ages, natural events like volcanic eruption doesn't happen along with the cycles. We should see the difference of events between which are unexpected and expected.
