POPSSouthern Cal mom on trial in gang murder case She and co-defendant Herbierto Garcia, 17, were in court Wednesday for the start of their trial, both charged with first-degree murder and facing 25 years to life in prison if convicted. Garcia was charged as an adult in connection with Cano's stabbing. Cano slipped and fell and was set upon by the group, which beat him as Garcia administered the deadly knife attack, Lonergan said. Daley and Garcia have pleaded not guilty. Daley's attorney Javier Ramirez said she never knew any of the teens she was driving were carrying a weapon and suggested she may have been caught up by circumstance. Of the six youths — ages 13 to 17 — charged in the case, five pleaded guilty to manslaughter and were sentenced to time in the California Department of Corrections' Division of Juvenile Justice, Lonergan said.

POPSMedieval Cooking-Blank Maunger This is a good site for researching Medieval Cooking. This is a great recipe I've served at many feasts-no leftovers-over the years. See the rest of the recipe on-site.

POPSSexes need different dinners Crickets eat junk food! Maybe it's a matter of 'learning' to eat well. (good habits?) Often it can be a case of what is available, or easy to get, rather than what is good and nutritious. Sometimes a small change in diet can lead to a marked improvement in an aspect of the health of the consumer. Generally alongside overall improvement. A 'diet' doesn't have to be a revolution. It can be a replacement of a preference that is unhealthy, with one that is healthy. (Of course that's easy to write)

POPSBrit MP--British WMD Iraq Inspector Murdered
The British MP's book "The Strange Death of Dr. Kelly" claims their was foul play in the suicide, that he was in fact murdered. Of course the Downing Street Memos prove that the "intelligence was fixed around the policy" to go to war, by the U.S. neoconservatives and Cheney, in league with Tony Blair. After BBC reported the intelligence about WMD had been "sexed-up" (exaggerated and fraudulent) Dr. Kelly was found dead in the woods, reportedly "suicide". Immediately the coincidence was considered suspicious by many. The story also says this: He said it was virtually impossible to kill yourself in the manner Kelly had, by cutting his ulnar artery, there was a lack of blood at the scene, and no fingerprints were found on the knife used. Kelly had also booked a flight to Iraq for the following week, his wife was unwell, his daughter was shortly to be married and he left no suicide note, all factors that appeared to contradict the official verdict, Baker argues.[/quot

POPS Holland A Divided Society Dutch society became, and remains, bitterly divided in the wake of the Van Gogh murder. Some of Hirsi Ali's compatriots decided it was time to address the issues of women, Islam and integration head on. The Dutch writer Leon de Winter, a defender of Hirsi Ali, talks openly about his country's failure to integrate Muslim immigrants, attributing the problem to the Dutch "guilt complex": "As soon as we let people from the Third World come here to work in our rich country, we . . . somehow saw them as sacred victims."

POPSVirginia Tech: just get over it. I can't stand hearing more about the Virginia Tech. Not because it upsets me, but because it seems so two-faced. People are asking "how could this happen?" Easy: allow nutters easy access to weapons as is currently the case. If the bloke had has to make do with a knife or an axe, then we on the other side of the world would not be hearing about it. Of course, if this massacre had taken place in Iraq at the hands of a USMC squad, it would have made the news because non-American lives don't matter. More than 30 americans are killed every day either by guns or cars. No one is upset if 30 people die in clumps of 1-3. So, stop asking "why" and "how" - it is easy - psychos kill, and when they get their hands on weapons that can kill large clumps of people, they do. Perhaps the deaths are just collateral damage for a ridiculous policy of allowing the public to arm themselves with weapons that should only be held by those in the armed forces?
