POPSRussian leader Medvedev heading to Cuba, Venezuela The Russians are shrewd geopolitical players. They smell weakness in the new U.S. administration and are exploiting it even before Obama takes office. As I have said many times.. Obama is a lightweight and liberals are cowards. Our enemies will take advantage. They will chew him up and spit him out.

POPS Congratulations! This could be part of the problem. Obama, in his chats with nine world leaders, told SK President Lee the US-ROK relationship is a “cornerstone” of Asian stability. Good thing he noticed. Medvedev rounded on the United States for ills ranging from the global financial crisis to the recent war in Georgia, in a state-of-the-nation speech that was watched intently by his mentor Vladimir Putin, and omitted mentioning Obama by name. http://news.theage.com.au/world/russias-medvedev-hits-out-at-us-20081105-5ilq.html

POPS"A Great Victory"? It's incredible that in the 21st Century we're passing laws to deprive people of a certain group of their rights. It's incredible that in the 21st Century we're using secular law to force religious beliefs on people. The struggle continues to allow freedom for all people.

POPSToo Close for Comfort? Hide Them from View! Ironic that the new "Cold War" wall is not between US and Russia but US and that Super Power Threat to the US - Mexico. Or maybe it is more like the Great Wall of China that did not succeed in keeping foreigners out either.

POPS Sending Iran's Regrets ~ Michael J. Totten The United States isn't going to abandon a long-standing ally just because terrorists, Jew-hating dictatorships, and a minority of disgruntled American radicals find it distasteful. Even if the vote goes his way and Obama wins the election, Jackson will still have to keep hope alive, as will the Iranians. Withdrawing all U.S. forces from the Middle East likewise is not going to happen. Obama may want to bug out of Iraq as quickly as humanly possible, but there isn't even a small chance that he'll shut down American military bases in Turkey, Kuwait, and Qatar. Iran's preconditions are unacceptable. Whatever preconditions Obama would have, if he had any, would almost certainly be unacceptable from the point of view of the Islamic Repubic. The interests of the U.S. and Iran are diametrically opposite, and they have been since 1979. Obama may not understand this, but at least Tehran does.

POPSWho Said What? And while you're at it - perhaps the article of the constitution which somehow makes one think that "spreading the wealth around" is any business of the government? For extra credit.

POPSBush Denounces 'Dungeon' of Cuba You'd think Bush was speaking of his own dictatorial reign, eh? "Our great nation that believes in human rights and human dignity, blah, blah, blah..." Hahahaha! What a joke! Tell that to the people of Iraq or Afghanistan or the people wasting away in Gitmo! I'd bet Castro's popularity ratings are higher than yours! Bush, why don't you just STFU? Fix your own country, who is "being repressed by a handful of elites" first, before trying to impose your twisted version of "freedom", on everyone else! Lift the embargo. The age of the red scare is dead and gone. It's the red, white and blue scare, most of the world is concerned about these days...SIR!

POPSFidel Warns That It Would Be A Disaster If Chávez Was Assassinated
" Venezuelan oil is not sugar cane. It is a product which, although market prices were low at the time, such was the volume and quality that it generated a huge income in a currency that possessed tremendous acquisitive power for decades," read Chávez. "Your country achieved certain levels of industrial development," continued Fidel Castro in the letter that the South American leader said he would read in sections. "On your own merits and with tremendous popular support, you are assuming leadership of a people who received very little for what they produced," noted Fidel in his message, in reference to Chávez’ electoral triumph in 1998. "There was a surplus of workers, there was unemployment, the consumerism of the rich, their Yankee-style stores and services, they forced you to sell the workforce, they subjected it to inflation, they shamelessly sold your hard currency reserves" In contrast, Cuba relied solely on its income from sugar cane.

POPS"Yankee Hegemony Is Finished," Says Chavez Chavez has called the U.S. Navy's newly re-established Fourth Fleet a threat. On Wednesday, he said he's sure "nuclear submarines pass under our noses" off Venezuela's coast. He said Venezuela is aiming to strengthen its "defensive capability with our strategic allies, and Russia is one of them." Later, Chavez called the U.S. the "empire" as he addressed troops at the christening of a newly built coast guard patrol ship. "Every day, relations between Venezuela and Russia will continue to deepen." He dismissed comparisons to the Cold War, but mentioned Cuba while saying he had been reviewing flight theory in a simulator in hopes of flying one of the Russian planes. Addressing his close friend Fidel Castro, Chavez said: "I'm going to fly a Tu-160. Fidel, I'm going to fly low past you there."

POPSChavez - More Like Castro Everyday Nevertheless, Mr. Chávez appears pleased with the circumstances, illuminating another way in which he resembles Castro: Both men are narcissists above all else, and both have been driven by an intense desire to rule as the omnipotent caudillo. The welfare of the nation is beside the point.

POPSArmy Intelligence Analyst Murdered Note the military editor's headline vs. mine. It could be significant that he was an intelligence analyst, and the investigation remains secret. This article is relatively light hearted considering its a homicide, and is short on details.

POPSThe Audacity Hustle Exposed It's all part of the Audacity Hustle. Obama is running the most audacious campaign in American history. But the Hustle only works for the real suckers. His German Tiergarten speech with "Citizens of the world!" -- a direct echo of "Workers of the world!" from the Communist Manifesto of 1848. "We are the change we've been waiting for!" It's repeated in The Obama Hustle over and over again. But it's just Fidel Castro's slogan, "La Revolucion Somos Nosotros!" --- "We are the Revolution!" Most Americans don't know that Obama's Soviet Realism pics are just imitation Lenin posters. The same thing for The Decembrist rock band to echo the Russian Decemberist rebellion. That's why the Decembrist rockers play the Soviet National Anthem to start their concerts. Get it? The whole idea that Obama is a devout Christian is another fraud; he's a militant atheist, just like Bill Ayers and Jeremiah Wright.

POPS"Put a Kibosh to this Insane Plan" Ominously, these “ideas” hark back to Operation Northwoods, the JSC plan to stage a false flag terror event — or a number of events — designed to provide a pretext to invade Cuba and take out Fidel Castro. Such “ideas” included “friendly Cubans” attacking the U.S. base at Guantanamo, shooting down a drone disguised as a chartered civil airliner and blaming it on Cuba, inciting riots and staging terror attacks in Miami, and other terrorist acts. Fortunately, then Secretary of Defense, Robert McNamara, put a kibosh to this insane plan. More recently, in January, 2003, in the lead-up to the Iraq invasion George Bush and Tony Blair discussed painting planes in United Nations colors “in order to provoke an attack which could then be used to justify material breach” and thus set in motion an invasion, according to Philippe Sands, a leading British human rights lawyer.
