POPS7 New Deadly sins Interesting that they would include these, and not others. I am not Catholic, and therefore do not view sins in this way. The basic Christian view is that one sin can keep you out of heaven- ie Hell is not a punishment but the result of separation from God for all eternity.

POPSSC Priest, just one more Kook from the Religious Right More evidence that leaders of the RR (Religious Right) are stark raving mad. Anyone who willingly chooses one of these quacks as a spiritual guide through their life, needs to see a REAL HONEST TO GOODNESS guidance counselor... like maybe a psychiatrist! How sad it is to hand over a potentially viable thinking mind to one of these charlatans who will wrap the chains of irrationality and foolishness around the minds of the weak and padlock them so securely that no reality based info can get in or out. What's even more depressing is when an adult can easily hand over their young to be pummeled with shame, guilt and fear for the rest of their lives. Who does this priest think he is anyway to hold part of this religion's ritual, as hostage to get his own delusional way. People should run as far as they can from this kook! I'm with Bill Maher on this one...(Bill Maher on Religion - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-IcUumWzue4 )

POPSRev. Roy Denied Magic Crackers More silliness from the Old Boys in Fancy Dresses Network. In an effort to retain their positions of power in the Vatican Girl Haters Club they are threatening this priest from eating the magic crackers.

POPSPriest to deny Communion To Obama Supporters In 2004 I knowingly and willingly committed the grievous sin of voting for John Kerry. And, Lord help me, I'd do it again tomorrow. So I guess I am a sinner again according to this priest, and it makes me mad as hell all over again.

POPSPriest: No Communion for Obama Supporters This is one priest who knows evil when he sees it. In all the debates "moderated" by biased liberal newspeople, was there one question on abortion? Nope. Was there one question on gun control? Nope. McCain for the old liberal rope a dope.

POPSNew Catholic "Blessing of a Child in the Womb" This prayer "makes a plea that 'our civic rules' perform their duties 'while respecting the gift of human life.'" With those words you move the prayer away from the stated object and make it an political statement. I'm all in favor of religious political action, but when a mother comes to you for a blessing of her unborn child and you respond with a plea to "civic rulers," you denigrate the mother and her unborn child and make them tools for your goals rather than the focus of your thoughts.

POPSIs Proposition 8 Behind the 8 Ball? It should be!
When I read the questions on my Fl. ballot, I thought, “Why is Prop 8 there in all it's intolerance?” This election should be about issues not the same old worn out divisions, propagandized by the religious right for far too long. The GUNS, GAYS AND GOD mantra Karl Rove and his like, peddled, until the United States did not resemble anything UNITED, more like The Divided States of Amer. How naive of me, believing their divisive plan didn’t work and was therefore, over. With Separation of church & state a survivor. But here it was a religious question written into a civil ballot. Then, I thought, PROP 8 WILL SURELY BE DEFEATED... Wrong again. What will it take to keep religion out of the lives of people who do not wish to buy into it? What will it take to keep the prying eyes of the law out of our sexual orientation? It probably will never end but when the blind faith of religion wishes to erase that separation, we who are in possession of common sense must always fight back.

POPSBookies offer odds on proof of God continues: As a result of a flurry of small bets Paddy Power, which also runs books on who will be the next Pope and the head of the Roman Catholic Church in England and Wales, has cut the odds on proof being found of God's existence to just 4-1. The bookmaker stands to lose more than £50,000 if proof emerges to justify religious belief. A spokesman for Paddy Power said that confirmation of God's existence would have to be verified by scientists and given by an independent authority before any payouts were made, however.

POPSPriest and Nuns in brawl continues: He was taken to hospital with injuries to his neck and bruising to his abdomen. A lawyer for the clergy disputed his version of events, noting that the nuns had "a combined age of 160". "This establishment was being occupied illegally," said lawyer Gaetano Di Vietri. "As to the alleged aggression, I would only say that the two nuns have a combined age of about 160. For the rest, it will be up to the magistrate to clear up, but the clergy members deny the allegations." The priest and nuns belong to a religious order, the Disciples of Santa Teresa and the Baby Jesus, which owns the lease on the premises and reportedly wants the property back.

POPSCatholics Probe Aid Directed To ACORN In June, the Catholic Church froze a $1.2 million grant for 38 ACORN chapters after the community-organizing group was accused of voter fraud in 15 states. State elections officials and the FBI are questioning ACORN workers who submitted voter registration forms signed by Mickey Mouse and members of the Dallas Cowboys football team in their efforts to register voters in low-income neighborhoods, many of whom tend to favor Democratic presidential nominee Sen. Barack Obama. Mr. Obama once worked with ACORN as a community organizer and lawyer in Chicago. "While there is value in registering low-income voters, I am concerned that the whole ban on partisanship has been violated," Ralph McCloud, the new executive director for the CCHD, said Monday. Mr. McCloud said he could not reassure Catholics that the funds donated before 2008 were not used in voter fraud. http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2008/nov/04/catholics-probe-aid-directed-to-acorn/

POPSEx-Muslim Tells Pope Islam Is The Religion Of War
the general interest of Christianity and of Western civilization itself” that the Pope make a pronouncement in “a clear and binding way” on the question of whether Islam is a valid religion. The Catholic Church’s dialogue with Islam is based on the Second Vatican Council’s Declaration on the Relationship of the Church to Non-Christian Religions (”Nostra Aetate”), which urged esteem for Muslims because “they adore the one God,” strive to follow his will, recognize Jesus as a prophet, honor his mother, Mary, “value the moral life and worship God especially through prayer, almsgiving and fasting.” The council called on Catholics and Muslims “to work sincerely for mutual understanding” and for social justice, moral values, peace and freedom. Allam told Pope Benedict he specifically objected to Cardinal Tauran telling a conference in August that Islam itself promotes peace but that “’some believers’ have ‘betrayed their faith,’” using it as a pretext for violence.

POPSVatican calls for psych tests to weed out gays The Vatican is so deep into denial about their own problems, that once again they have decided to continue slandering gays in order to exonerate themselves of responsibility for their own unnatural beliefs.
