POPSCorn – The Main Ingredient in Your Fast Food What’s more, the animals were found to be raised in harsh confinement. If they go organic... I repent BTW the other day I wasn't able to resist to catch my favorite chicken nuggets meal. It's already more that $8. Guess what? Same as before, strange hunger after couple hours, heartbeat, running and colorful dreams in the morning. There is no only corn and its syrup. May be we'll never know, what else. No, I said to myself, no more such experiments. Until next time...;)

POPSFast Food: Another Name for "Corn" CONT'D: "In cattle, eating corn increases flatulence emissions of methane — a potent greenhouse gas — and creates an intestinal environment rich in e. coli, a common cause of food poisoning. That necessitates mixing cow feed with antibiotics, in turn producing antibiotic-resistant disease strains. Many of those livestock end up in high-calorie, low-nutrition franchised fast foods, which have been repeatedly linked to obesity, diabetes and heart disease. Fast food's biggest selling point is its low price — and that, say industry critics, is largely possible because of corn's ubiquitous cheapness. " (Emph mine)

POPSLogic? Global warming and tobacco's link to cancer are junk science, but creationism should be taught in schools. A president lying about an extramarital affair is a impeachable offense, but a president lying to enlist support for a war in which thousands die is solid defense policy. Government should limit itself to the powers named in the Constitution, which include banning gay marriages and censoring the Internet. The public has a right to know about Hillary's cattle trades, but George Bush's driving record is none of our business. Being a drug addict is a moral failing and a crime, unless you're a conservative radio host. Then it's an illness and you need our prayers for your recovery. Supporting "Executive Privilege" for every Republican ever born, who will be born or who might be born( in perpetuity.)

POPSImage Beats Facts for Republicans "Once upon a time, it was a canny strategy. Reagan and his staff were masters of the art of overwhelming facts with image. There's the famous story about Leslie Stahl, back in the 80s, doing a story that was critical of Reagan's use of images that contradicted facts. "I knew the piece would have an impact, if only because it was so long: five minutes and 40 seconds, practically a documentary in Evening News terms," Stahl later wrote. I worried that my sources at the White House would be angry enough to freeze me out." That's not what happened. Reagan adviser Dick Darman called from the White House to tell her how much they had loved the piece. Stahl replied, incredulously, "Didn't you hear what I said?" Darman replied, "Nobody heard what you said. You guys in Televisionland haven't figured it out, have you? When the pictures are powerful and emotional, they override if not completely drown out the sound. I mean it, Lesley. Nobody heard you.""

POPSTuberculosis Is 9,000 Years Old
The fact that Alit-Yam is one of the first Neolithic settlements evidenced to have domesticated cattle further goes to show that the bacteria infected humans first and then mutated into its bovine form. Several more skeletons found at the dig site exhibited traces of bacterial cell wall lipids, which have been directly linked to the presence of TB after DNA analysis. Having discovered the first hosts of the TB bacteria, biologists now hope to be able to sequence the bacterial DNA, in the hope that they would find out exactly how it mutated over the thousands of years it lived in humans. Already, several strand portions have been identified in samples collected from the bones in Egypt, which are not present in today's TB strains. This could mean that changes in human physiology may also trigger alternate responses in bacterial morphology. Scientists continue their research, with the big prize being finding a way of ridding humanity of this terrible disease.

POPSWho You Callin’ a Maverick? Great little morsel on the origin of the word! Never knew how it came about, and so glad to have come across this!! POPSBillionaires Who Weren't With all the Web titans on our list of the world's billionaires, it's tempting to think that any intelligent person with a decent tech idea in the late 90s became fabulously rich. Definitely not the case. For every billion-dollar success there were plenty of eToys and Pets.com.
