POPSThe French Cave What Sarkozy is really saying, "We don't care if you take back Georgia and the Ukraine as long as we continue to get cheap fuel from Russia."

POPSFree Speech and Christianity With all the Religious Right whining about the militant atheists (all 3-4 of them) it seems just a tad incongruous for them to react so uncivilly at a book signing. And for the bookstore to cave to their over the top threats suggests that they may need an infusion of moxie themselves.

POPS'Jerks' took Africa comments out of context: Palin "those were taken out of context, and that is cruel and mean-spirited, it's immature, it's unprofessional" after the crap and innuendo she cast to the winds. The politician is nought but a hypocrite and not a very bright one. Back to your cave.

POPSWhat happens to Sarah Palin now? She has a charm, now we can afford ourself admit it. Beautiful moose-loving hockey mom.;) Real grass-root folkish courageous American. Her example (and Hillary's) show, that politic is a rough merciless business and, IMHO, not for gracious female nature, especially on presidential levels. Has she political future? Has she enough inner power to reform ideology of her party as well as her own convictions? Can she find the ways to hearts, souls and minds ordinary people without inciting hate and cave instincts?

POPSEarliest known shaman grave
continues: The Israeli team found the bones in a small cave in the lower Galilee region of present-day Israel that was a Natufian burial ground for a least 28 people. At the time of burial, more than 10 large stones were placed directly on the head, pelvis, and arms of the elderly woman whose body was laid on its side. The legs were spread apart and folded inward at the knee. The special treatment of the body and use of stones to keep it in a certain position suggests the woman held a unique position in the community, likely some sort of a shaman, the researchers said. "The burial of the woman...is unlike any burial found in the Natufian or the preceding Palaeolithic periods," Grosman's team wrote. "We argue that this burial is consistent with expectations for a shaman's grave." The woman was also interred with some unusual grave goods, including the complete tortoise shells and select body-parts of a wild boar, an eagle, a cow, a leopard, and two martens, as well as a comp

POPSSatisfied? Now? Who Are These People? One of the first people I met was "satisfied," but she'd also been drinking that afternoon and wouldn't let me use her name. (I directed her to the closest bar.) Later I found a really sweet couple satisfied with the way things are going in America, because they live in Canada. Lynda Race, of Arlington, Va., who is "almost 50," boiled it down: "I love America. Where else would you be more satisfied?" Clip Song

POPSThe Other Humans For a change of pace from the political arena... This month's National Geographic has a very interesting article about the other humans who lived upon our planet, The Neanderthals. We know so little about the development of our species. Searching for information on it, will bring you many theories. Most agree though, that the human species, in one form or another have been around for a couple million years... Yet we have so little information on their evolutionary process to modern day man. Reading this very interesting article will make you acknowledge how vulnerable life is. So many species have come and gone and we have barely scratched the surface of realizing their existence. Perhaps we will never learn completely how life formed upon our planet and how we got to where we are today, but there's one fact for sure; Science will endure and will never give up its quest to bring us answers. National Geographic is a good way to keep up with new scientific discovery.
