POPSHP Customer Careless and No Award Winning Service I have owned a number of HP products over the years, dating back to my first laser printer in 1993. Consequently, I have purchased other laser printers, both color and monochrome, recommended to business products made by HP. However, in July of this year, all that changed and I no longer will praise Hewlett Packard.

POPSOUR TAX DOLLARS GOING TO GADHAFI FAMILY.... "Just weeks after the Gadhafi family celebrated the return of a terrorist responsible for the murders of 189 Americans, the U.S. taxpayer should not be asked to reward them with $400,000," Kirk wrote to the president. "For the sake of the victims' families who have endured so much pain these last few weeks, I ask you to withdraw your Administration's request." The Gadhafi Development Foundation is described by the BBC as "a charity which tries to project a new and positive image of Libya." The U.S. State Department has not issued a response to Kirk's request.

POPSCulture of Terror: the Collapse of America ~ I
This great betrayal has taken our “progressive” culture, with “the giant” of applied science lurking over everyone’s sense of the possible and turned it to fatalism. These betrayals have led to “multiculturalism” and the balkanization both of nations, and families, the better to centralize power and to scramble all states into a World “Commonwealth” where power, control and resources are monopolized by an oligarchy; those closer to the labyrinth’s center having greater amounts of all material and social perks and greater immunity from “law.” The dogma of “relativism,” gussied up as “situational ethics” means in effect that the law is the will of those with most power and that reason is an instrument of will and thus of appetites; that the rationales of this new State are thus insane, acts of wanton atrocity, to quote Melville in the epigraph. This deification of the will is a radical subversion of the principles of law, justice and righteousness, as well as charity rooted in Scri

POPSGet Free Swatches and Give to Fellow Humans Easily Today is Spoonflower.com's free swatch day! Who wouldn't love to get custom designed fabric? Now you can test it out at a great bargain. You only get two but it still is worth it. I ordered three and gave 5USD to Heifer International. Heifer International give livestock and such to families as a way to give them a way out of poverty. It is really super cool. Spoonflower has also added a couple of new fabrics; organic cotton knit and bamboo-cotton poplin. I got a swatch of each of those and the third is the standard quilting weight.

POPSYankees’ Postgame Wrap-Up in the Name of Charity This story is really about how individuals are doing something to help the needy. You cannot and should not expect the government to do it. They are more concerned with making money for their corporate brethren. Syd Mandelbaum started an organization, Rock and Wrap It Up, in 1990 by persuading rock bands to send their prepared, but unserved, backstage and concessions food to local charities and has succeeding in doing so after the performances of 160 bands. Since 2002, his group has added 31 sports teams — including the Yankees, the Mets, the Jets, the Giants, the Nets, the Knicks, the Rangers, and the Devils — and their concessionaires. Carl Thomas, a volunteer warehouse worker recovering from his own hard times, sums it up this way: “When I do this, it keeps rewarding me. It comes back to me at different times, tenfold.” “They who give have all things; they who withhold have nothing” - - Hindu proverb.

POPSClean, Sexy Water "So what’s his secret? Mr. Harrison’s success seems to depend on three precepts: First, ensure that every penny from new donors will go to projects in the field Second, show donors the specific impact of their contributions. Third, leap into new media and social networks. "

POPSHat tip to the most giving, generous and charitable people on the planet As 20/20 mentions,............................................................................................................................................................................. Christians are dropping a lot of money that they earned, and giving it away to charities outside of their churches. Extreme? I'll say. An extremely kind group of people Conservatives and Christians give so much more to charity than Liberals do, the claim that these folks are evil heartless bastards is asinine. Sadly though liberals have repeated it over and over so many times that even 20/20 won't bother with an investigation one day. I guess that may be the strategy. Sad though.

POPSHouston Livestock Show & Rodeo Chairman Answers Allegations...Again I got this e-mail tonight. Yet another politician creating an issue where there is none! Ugh! From 2006 to 2008, 915 scholarships have been awarded in the Houston metropolitan area, totaling nearly $12 million in support, with more than half going to minority students. Hispanics serve on a majority of the Show's nearly 100 committees and hold leadership positions on nearly half. Many are active members of the Show's board of directors. As we've repeated many times, Go Tejano Day entertainment selection is based on market research, surveys, media involvement and consultation, record sales, and consumer input. We want to sell tickets and fill Reliant Stadium with enthusiastic rodeo and music fans. The record number of people who continue to attend Go Tejano Day attests to the fact that we're doing just that.

POPSBBC advisor QUITS over Gaza appeal "I strongly wish to register my view that by justifying the decision to block the Gaza appeal on the ground of impartiality, the BBC's director-general has done greater reputational harm by implying that the DEC has not been objective in this case," reads his letter. Alam, a former vice-chair of aid organization War on Want, also said that he knew of at least one other committee member who was thinking about resigning over the decision. Despite the BBC refusal, the aid appeal raised more than £4 million for the besieged Gazans.

POPSWhat I got for Christmas: a solar cooker for someone in Africa! For Christmas this year, my dad gave a donation in our honor to Solar Cookers International, a non-profit organization working to help promote solar cookers and teach people how to use them. Wow. These people are doing good work. You start clicking around the website and it's amazing how many ways solar cookers can make a difference for people: "reduced spending on fuels; decreased exposure to smoke, ash, and flames; and less time and energy spent collecting fuel to name a few." This bit from one of their newsletters made me cry: Fifty women with leprosy were trained in early 2007. With the loss of nerve sensation caused by the disease, traditional open fire cooking can be dangerous for these women because they can unknowingly get burned. Another benefit is that the women have increased status in the community because they now know something that most don’t: how to cook food with the sun.

POPSBottle of Charity: 1 in 6 People Do Not Have Access to Clean Water
"Most of us have never really been thirsty. Yet more than 1.1 billion people on the planet don’t have clean water." "It’s hard to imagine what a billion people looks like really, but 1 in 6 might be easier. 1 in 6 people in our world don’t have access to the most basic of human needs. Something we can’t imagine going 12 hours without." "Put yourself in their shoes. Carry 80 pounds of water in yellow fuel cans. Dig with their children in sand for water. Line up at a well and wait 8 hours for a turn." "Unsafe water and lack of basic sanitation cause 80% of all sickness and disease, and kill more people every year than all forms of violence, including war." charity: water is a non profit organization bringing clean, safe drinking water to people in developing nations. 100% of your donation this holiday season will directly fund sustainable water projects in developing nations. Each $20 can give one person clean, safe drinking water for 20 years.
