POPSCatholic charity CARITAS supplied LRA rebels Why in the world would CARITAS agree to supply the thugs of the Lord's Resistance Army with food and supplies? How much are they getting paid by the "international sponsors" for fulfilling this contract? Is it worthwhile to give murderous thugs an incentive?

POPSObama on His Socialized Medicine Plan, "Yes We Can" "While doctrinaire socialists might feel betrayed by liberalism's cozy embrace of big business, their betrayal pales in comparison to the bitterness of free-marketers who defend big business's freedom to operate, only to see these businesses use that freedom to hide behind the skirts of the nanny state. Real freedom means the freedom to fail as well as succeed. Big business wants to be protected from the former and deny competitors the latter. And their betrayal, more than anything, disheartens those who would defend both freedoms." --columnist Jonah Goldberg "We can debate endlessly whether the Constitution authorizes any president to 'overhaul' the financial system. But I want to focus on a different matter: whether any president, with all his advisers, is capable of overseeing something as complex as the financial system.

POPS"No priest, no evil one/Can keep us/From feeling like Hitler’s children." "Clergy were put on government salary, hence subjected to state authority. “The parsons will be made to dig their own graves,” Hitler cackled. “They will betray their God to us. They will betray anything for the sake of their miserable little jobs and incomes.” Following the Jacobin example, the Nazis replaced the traditional Christian calendar. The new year began on January 30 with the Day of the Seizure of Power. Each November the streets of central Munich were dedicated to a Nazi Passion play depicting Hitler’s Beer Hall Putsch. The martyrdom of Horst Wessel and his “old fighters” replaced Jesus and the apostles. Plays and official histories were rewritten to glorify pagan Aryans bravely fighting against Christianizing foreign armies. Anticipating some feminist pseudo history, witches became martyrs to the bloodthirsty oppression of Christianity."

POPSHat tip to the most giving, generous and charitable people on the planet As 20/20 mentions,............................................................................................................................................................................. Christians are dropping a lot of money that they earned, and giving it away to charities outside of their churches. Extreme? I'll say. An extremely kind group of people Conservatives and Christians give so much more to charity than Liberals do, the claim that these folks are evil heartless bastards is asinine. Sadly though liberals have repeated it over and over so many times that even 20/20 won't bother with an investigation one day. I guess that may be the strategy. Sad though.

POPSPETA being pathetic
So PETA has released an official statement condemning Obama swatting a fly on the air. How pathetic can you get. There is no shortage of flies in the world. Even if everyone who saw that interview was inspired to go out and kill 100 flies, it still wouldn't have any significant impact on the fly population. But I suppose PETA as a pathetic joke is better than their usual role as terrorists. PETA has murdered people, just because they have used animals in research. The use of animal testing has saved countless lives, and significantly improved our quality of life. Do stop it would mean that we would have to turn to human testing, which is much more unethical than using animals. Despite what PETA tries to tell you, the vast majority of places that use animals for medical experimentation treat them ethically. PETA is spending money on nonsense, wasting funds that could be better spent on saving human lives. The next time you have money to give to charity, if you're thinking of g

POPSShallow Shouting from The Left "In a society that broke, on behalf of merit, the seemingly eternal chains of station by birth, they cry 'injustice.' In the names of fantasy worlds and mystical perfections, they have closed themselves to the Western, liberal miracle of individual rights, individual responsibility, merit, and human satisfaction. Like Marx, they put words like 'liberty' in quotation marks when these refer to the West…."

POPSCall to ban child-in-car smoking
And a spokeswoman for the road safety charity, Brake, said smoking while driving meant people were not concentrating on the road. "All that can add up to not having proper control of your vehicle or dangerous driving." She said it might be useful to have a law banning smoking in the same way there was in force regarding using hand-held mobile phones. But Neil Rafferty, Scottish spokesman for Forest, the pro-smokers' rights group, said: "We don't think that children should be exposed to smoke in a car but a ban would be a waste of police and court time. "Would it be OK if you opened the sunroof or a window while smoking? It's an impractical suggestion. "People like those at the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health should be more realistic about what is possible." A Department of Health spokesman said it would look at whether current anti-smoking laws needed to be extended. He added: "We would always strongly recommend that people do not smoke in cars

POPSMoved by Madonna They would argue: How many of the rich politicians in Malawi, the activists in Malawi, the rich in Malawi -- how many of them adopt children? They simply don't. They don't see rich Malawians adopting or supporting orphans, and we have 560,000 of them. So Malawians have tended to love Madonna and want her to have as many children as possible, because she's the only one so far who has shown interest in adopting these children. Only about 30 international adoptions a year are approved here.

POPS Obugger's Wealth Share...um...Health Care Ten Reasons Why Medicare for All Will Be AWESOME! 1. It’s patriotic to pay taxes. If you have to pay taxes anyway, you might as well fund a good cause, excessive taxation being the greatest form of charity (for those who didn’t earn the money in the first place). Medicare for All is as good a cause as any other, except for maybe freedom. Besides, it’s not every day you get to put best in class American ingenuity into the hands of bureaucrats and completely destroy it, all while finding your government sponsored sunny breezy day. This satire has been cross-posted at Smart Girl Nation and The American TEA Party. http://smartgirlpolitics.ning.com/forum/topics/health-care-ration-book http://teapartyamerica.blogspot.com/2009/06/ten-reasons-why-medicare-for-all-will.html

POPSA Libertarian Revival "You and I are told we must choose between a left or right, but I suggest there is no such thing as a left or right. There is only an up or down. Up to man's age-old dream -- the maximum of individual freedom consistent with order -- or down to the ant heap of totalitarianism. Regardless of their sincerity, their humanitarian motives, those who would sacrifice freedom for security have embarked on this downward path. Plutarch warned, " 'The real destroyer of the liberties of the people is he who spreads among them bounties, donations and benefits.' " Ronald Reagan - Address to the nation, October 27, 1964
