POPSAn Election Day Note: Thanks, President Bush Me too. I believe he will gladly leave the White House and return to private life to live as a private citizen. I believe he will be sad by what he was not able to accomplish and fearful of what lies ahead for all of us. Since I never read the Daily Kos, Huffington, Salon, or watched CNN, I never saw anything in his conduct as my President to make me ashamed or embarrassed. I believe he is a man who tried to do what was best of us and the US. Sadly, he didn't have much to work with in the other Branch of Government.

POPSObama kills McCain in "Town-Hall Meetings" All of the polls are saying it's abundantly clear that Obama won the debate on Tuesday night, by a very large margin... well, all of the polls, except for FoxNews. They said McCain won by about 95%. What more blatant evidence do people need to realize that FoxNews is NOT a news network; it is a heavy biased cheerleading squad for the Republican Party. Fair and Balanced, my Aunt Fanny!

POPSThe Democratic Party and Clean Elections One of the reasons I'm disillusioned by the democrats and am not jumping on their cheerleading team - they play dirty and like to keep the system rigged. If you are a democrat please support clean, open and "democratic" elections.

POPSNew York Times: "highly disturbing pattern of bias."
'Support for Israel is ironclad, absolute, and uncompromising on everything including its worst crimes of war and against humanity. Open debate is stifled, and anyone daring to dissent or demur is pilloried, ridiculed, called anti-Semetic, even threatened, ostracised, and finally ignored. In his seminal work on Middle East affairs, "Fateful Triangle," Noam Chomsky put it this way: "....Israel has been granted a unique immunity from criticism in mainstream journalism and scholarship...."' Simply put, the NYT is a rag unworthy of the tees needed Today, it's the pillar of the corporate media and main instrument of fake news making it the closest thing in the country to an official ministry of information and propaganda. No media source anywhere has more clout than the Times, none manipulates the public mind more effectively, and where it goes, others follow. It's most visible supporting all things corporate, foreign wars of aggression, and everything favouring Israel it views one

POPSHawkish Hillary Pushes the Button Robert Scheer of The Nation writes: Great, so forget the hope that a woman President might prove to be more enlightened than macho men in the matter of peacemaking, and instead rest assured that Hillary would have the cojones to "push the button" that would kill us all. Once again, the old Clintonian tactic of triangulation: positioning oneself politically instead of taking a position of integrity.

POPSSocial media in the classroom I'm not sure if this is just cheerleading for web 2.0, but some of the ideas look promising. Don't know if they'd work out in practice. From Nov. 2005.

POPSCheerleaders banned for barring midriffs I think it's very progressive that potential issues like this are being highlighted; it's been too long that the 'famous and popular' have walked around like stick-women without anyone questioning the effects that this could have on young people.
