POPSNZ youth to be tried as an adult in Hawaii Bartley's lawyer, Jeffrey Hawk, hinted at a possible defense. "Every child is a product of his environment and his family," Hawk said. "And I think, hopefully, we can make that an issue in this case, that no child does these sort of things without good cause or good reason."

POPSHamas Children's Show Discusses Severing Hands.... We surely have different cultures and this explains a lot and is foreboding for the future in the area. The last comment is probably applauded by some. :~( Teaching children to kill. How sad is that? Americans can get in trouble for spanking.

POPSGuns: This Is Why I live in Texas, a big gun-loving state. Just a few days ago when discussing the recent Supreme Court decision, I missed my opportunity to get on my soapbox when someone baited me by asking, "What, you wouldn't allow me to protect myself?" This is why, dumby: You are far more likely to blow yourself away than to protect your precious dvd collection. When people talk about guns, the words they use include "rights, freedom, American, 2nd amendment, protection, safety, etc." But somehow suicide and accidental gun injuries and death never rise to become part of that conversation. For the life of me I don't know why. Is it that we are confronted daily with images in the media of heroic gunfights between the bad guys vs. the good guys? But what about the good guy vs. himself? Or the bad guy grabbing the good guy's gun and using it against him? Or the good guy's young child accidentally shooting her foot off? Why do we never talk about these things?

POPSHalf America would be on Death Row.
If it were up to the R party, half of Amer. would be on death row. I exaggerate but you have to ask...what’s wrong with these people? They can't see society for the people. Sick acts do occur that we’d like to cure. But with brains, one size doesn’t fit all. Many take a beating before maturity, so we wind up with depraved sins by sickos. If laws put all sickos to death there would have to be many death rows. Killing doesn’t stop such acts and sets an example that murder is an answer. Life without parole is cost effective. It takes alota $$ before a slaying occurs, life sentences are cheaper. (to those who tout PRISONS COST US TAXPAYERS MUCH MOOLAH, KILL THE BUMS!) Capital punishment is a fact in this brutal society and the judges must decide what it's slated for. It should only be for homicide. If it starts to pertain to other crimes, we slide backwards and kids will hang for stealing apples. Their legs must be weighted cause small bodies are too light to choke a life away. :-(

POPSWrestler Chris Benoit Used Steroid Testosterone; Son Sedated Before Murders “Although testosterone was found in Christopher Benoit’s urine, there is no evidence of any other of the illegal types of steroids, or the whole laundry list of anabolic steroids that are out there to be used,” Sperry said, adding, “the presence of the testosterone alone even could be an indicator that he was being treated for testicular insufficiency.” Besides steroids, Benoit’s body contained the anti-anxiety drug Xanax and the painkiller hydrocodone, according to a statement from the Georgia Bureau of Investigation. The GBI said Benoit tested negative for blood alcohol. But Sperry said that they found a drug in the child’s system that surprised them: Xanax. “It is our opinion that Daniel Benoit was sedated by Xanax at the time that he was murdered, so that (means) he was sedated prior to the time that he died,” he said.

POPSDouble homicide how tragic! This clip is from an AP article about an Akron Ohio murder case involving a police officer. So a Child within the womb of a murdered woman is considered murder. But culturing embryos and destroying them for research isn't???

POPSBrad Hicks, "Forbidden knowledge": maternal infanticide is more common than you'd like to believe Inter alia: (1) as many as 75% of SIDS cases may be maternal infanticide; and (2) scientific findings about maternal infanticide's prevalence in both animal and human populations has been systematically suppressed as too shocking for public consumption. This was one of the top clips -- err, excuse me, posts -- on Reddit the other day. It's from April. I can't believe no one clipped it, and I also can't believe I've never seen this blog before. Fascinating, and creepy as hell.

POPSWar On Drugs Gets Crazier and Crazier It is remarkable that there are states who still look to prosecute pregnant women who happen to be drug addicts. Addiction is an illness; a treatable illness. I have never met a drug addict who is happy to be such. Instead of financing the phony war on drugs by locking up and prosecuting addicts, why not use some of that enormous amount of money on building more treatment centres and financing research into additional treatment measures for this illness? It's the perfect blame the victim mentality that some members of our society seems to thrive on.
