POPSInside a Tsunami Factory Image shows travel times of Pacific tsunamis originating from earthquakes off Chile and Alaska. Last year aboard the vessel Chikyu, a Japanese science vessel, researchers took 3D seismic images of the faultzone, the point where the North American plate is subsiding with the Filipino plate. The images they retrieved helped the researchers to pick the best spot to drill. However, in their imaging, they also managed to discover new steeper faults in the rock. Tthese near-vertical faults could be the reason why the Nankai Trough produces approximately one 8+ earthquake every 150 years.

POPSChile con queso recipe 6. Stir in the sour cream. 7. Add salt to taste. Notes: You can vary which chiles you use to control how hot you want the queso to be. Also, if the sauce is too thick, feel free to add a bit more milk a tablespoon at a time. The key, however, to a smooth sauce is adding the cheese very slowly and not adding any more cheese until the previous addition is completely integrated into the sauce.

POPSSkype to sell unlimited international calls for $9.95/month Skype is generally used as a software application running on a computer equipped with a microphone and speakers or a headset. But subscribers will also have the option to call a local number from their phones and be connected to international numbers that fall under their plan, paying only local access charges or using their cell-phone airtime. Unlimited international calling plans have been popping up in recent years from hardware-based phone services like Vonage International Holdings Corp. and cable companies, but the prices are generally higher, and the plans are add-ons to basic calling plans that cost even more. Skype said its subscribers called phones for 1.7 billion minutes in the first three months of the year, compared with 14.2 billion minutes used in computer-to-computer sessions, which are free.

POPSFound ! 'Missing link' brown dwarf Scientists have often wondered how big a gas cloud had to be, before the collapse due to it's own gravity would turn it from a large planet into a small star. They have found gas giants, and brown dwarfs either side, but this is the closest to the line. There will probably be a few 'missing links', because beside the mass, the flash point could depend on what the clouds are made of. Scientists always love it when they find something that needs a new category.
