Energy: We're Still Vulnerable
muckdog
by muckdog  11-5-2008
Indeed. We need more nuclear power plants. We need to begin NOW because of the time it takes to build them. Solar and wind are just a fantasy and can't provide enough reliable power.

I saw someone just post the name and the url but none of the sites that it links to, I thought I could do it a little more justice. These are not even a miniscule accounting of the Websites that this page links to. Truly something for everybody. The second part is web blogs...

First you take a pair of genes... There has been a lot of study in the field recombinant DNA for any number of reasons, and it's easy to think that it belongs strictly in the domain of science, and hope they know what they're doing. Science is not as much about knowing what you are doing, but having theories about what is possible and then using the scientific method to record what happens when tested. The principle behind experimentation is 'Lets try something and see what happens.' Often that is the only way something will be discovered. There are many factors to consider, generally a comparison between likely benefits and dangers and the likelihood of success based on the type of theory or past results. Mary Shelly sent us a warning Why did Dr Frankenstein create his monster? He wasn't sure if he could do it. He wanted to prove he could. There are no doubt untold benefits that can be acquired though genetic research, but we seem to be in a hurry to taunt the Sword of Damocles

Appears to be a solution worth trying. Nothing like a 60 day free trial to assess a product... I'm taking advantage of their free trial offer so I can really see what I'm getting and how easy or difficult the control panel is. In other words does the product live up the sales promises? We'll see. Any company who's willing to let you try out their product for 60 days clearly stands behind and believes in their product. I've got nothing to lose and everything to gain by trying out their product.

This is truly bizarre, but apparently she done something that proves the existence of G-d, or Allah and His power. If you don't think this is proof enough to the existence of His power than I would ask you to think again, and not challenge the scriptures, or His power. Even though, I have faith in the Lord; this is horrific. It is unexplainable, but is powerful enough to scare people that He is real.

Can Centaurs and Talking Pigs Be Far Behind?
wildcat
by wildcat  5-30-2007    3
In 2003, Panayiotis Zavos created "human cow" embryos that lived for several days and, theoretically, could have been implanted into a woman's womb. Researchers at the Mayo Clinic in Minnesota have produced pigs with hybrid pig-human blood cells

Bank or Loan Shark......You Decide!
zasel
by zasel  3-26-2007    2
Banks have become the new "legal loan sharks" and are getting away with practices that thirty years ago might have landed perpetrators of these practices in jail. I urge y'all to read this entire piece as it is very informative. This is a major issue in our country because it gives us a false sense of success and financial security while so many of us wind up bankrupt or worse.
