My personal orientation in such matters is that the original teacher of what became Christianity would laugh derisively at expressions of Temple worship and personalization that pass for expressions of piety. My evangelical friends who had previously scoffed at my views have now come into congruency with my non-theistic beatitude oriented view.

POPSNot that it's our fault or nothin' Let the finger pointing and blame begin! After all, when one pays ten percent or more of one's income to feel superior, finding out that the leadership cleaned and reamed you is a sign that it's all their fault.

POPSIf Iran Were America--A Timeline For those on the right reading this article, I love my country. What I object to is our foreign policy which often supports imperial violence. We are seeing even more dangerous thinking by some of our leaders now who see the United States as a genuine empire, a new Rome, no longer bound by international law, the concern of allier or any constraints on it use of military force.
