I don't support his argument but it clarifies what you are getting with orthodoxy. Jimmy Carter is a hero for me.

Poor Christians - Thrown to the Lions Again
AtlLiberal
by AtlLiberal  11-13-2007    15
For all the Liberals out there who have fallen in love with Mr. Paul, I suggest they take another look at the real Ron Paul. Sure he's against the war in Iraq but that's not his entire agenda. This quy is more of a nut than most think.

Orthopraxy over Orthodoxy
thisnamecantbetaken
by thisnamecantbetaken  5-18-2007    4
Beliefs lead to behaviors, behaviors create habits, and habits shape character. Drudging around endlessly through chapters and verses of the Bible (or the Koran), has never been one my most favourite thing to do. (Sorry! I find it long-winded and boring! *LOL*) I don't think getting lost in the details or analysing and interpreting holy writings to death, will get me any nearer the "truth". To me, it's the overall message that matters and that should be the same, no matter what religion (or not) one chooses to follow. Love thy neighbour, do unto others, love don't hate and do the right thing. That's pretty much my *religion* and the long and short of it all I reckon and it works whether you are an atheist or a believer. One size fits all. .:)

How different are we....who's right?
perryia_pk
by perryia_pk  2-25-2007
The real question is how are we in tune with one another. Aren't we all a part of the Body? It seems the 21st century church forms are beginning to dump some of the modernist trappings of our Western heritage. I hope so.

Resurgent pagan cults in modern Ukraine
enbar
by enbar  1-13-2007
Who knew? Apparently attempts to revive pre-Christian Slavic polytheism have been going on in Ukraine since the 1930s, sometimes connected with proto-fascist nationalist movements. Fascinating.
