POPSHaaretz editor: Israel facing existential crisis The outgoing editor of the Israeli newspaper Haaretz spoke at the London Jewish Book Week. On the 2005 Chris McGreal series that appeared in the Guardian, comparing Israel to South Africa: Landau was "outraged" by the articles at the time, but went on: "I don't feel like that any more. I don't feel that my outrage did sufficient justice to that piece of journalism because I feel that we in Israel have got ourselves into a situation in which we will indeed be facing a South African dilemma. "We will have a country in which we will become the minority and the majority will be denied their political and civil rights. When I re-read the Chris McGreal reports I no longer feel necessarily that that was totally tendentious. It might have been a prophetic piece of journalism. But the point is that the outrage which I gave voice to was an inadequate reaction. The reaction should have been: 'has he got a point?'"

POPSBusting the Surge Myth Cont.... The Shiitization of Baghdad was thus a significant cause of falling casualty rates. But it is another war waiting to happen, when the Sunnis come back to find Shiite militiamen in their living rooms.

POPSGPS for the Moon -Helping Humans Navigate the Lunar Surface "We will help with navigation, but also with astronauts' health as well," Li said. "We want them to avoid the stress of getting lost, or getting frustrated with the equipment. Lunar navigation isn't just a technology problem, it's also biomedical." The researchers have named the entire system the Lunar Astronaut Spatial Orientation and Information System (LASOIS).

POPSNY Passes Video Game Label Law Similar laws have been thrown out in states including California and Illinois -- and it's a good thing, because they're absolutely stupid. Why should video game makers be forced by law to label their wares this way, and not creators of other forms of media?

POPSCourts Strike Down Net Censorship Both First Amendment and pro-tech groups have been hugely critical of COPA, saying that the law is too broad, and would affect news or informational sites talking about mature issues, not just porn.

POPSMcCain and Obama Go to Church, as US Gov't Goes to Hell
Not just any church of course, but a Mega-Church. 1. Obama uses Rick Warren as an endorsement to escape his association in public minds with the so-called "reverend" Wright: “looking forward to going back to Saddleback with his good friend Pastor Rick Warren.” Obama spoke at Saddleback in 2006. 2. McCain gets to publicly show that he is not averse to (so-called) Christian political churches, which he has criticized in past. 3. Rick Warren, Mr. Hireling and his "Purpose Driven Church"(merchandisers), gets to increase his publicity and no doubt a huge intake of "tithes and offerings" (and 5013c IRS laws will not prevent, since it is bipartisan) for his corrupt church, which Jesus and the apostles would not recognize any more than a Roman Catholic Mass. All in all, this is theater and corruption, religious and political leaders, like the Pharisees and Herodians getting together (who persecuted apostles, as Jesus warned), but no one dare say so.

POPSWelcome To The Real World "Government is instituted for the common good; for the protection, safety, prosperity, and happiness of the people; and not for profit, honor, or private interest of any one man, family, or class of men; therefore, the people alone have an incontestable, unalienable, and indefeasible right to institute government; and to reform, alter, or totally change the same, when their protection, safety, prosperity, and happiness require it." -John Adams, Thoughts on Government, 1776

POPSAnti-Obama Movie On The Way: Citizens United One prominent Citizens United movie is “Celsius 41.11,” which says it tells the “truth behind the lies” of the Michael Moore movie “Fahrenheit 9/11.” Other Citizens United movies are critical of the United Nations, illegal immigration, and the American Civil Liberties Union, while one movie promotes Newt Gingrich and his ideas. The conservative group is also looking to the U.S. Supreme Court for help in advertising the anti-Hillary movie. It is opposing a federal regulation, under the McCain-Feingold Act, requiring that a disclaimer that identifies the group be placed at the end of television ads promoting the movie and criticizing Mrs. Clinton. It is also arguing that it should not have to disclose how much it spent to produce the movie and the ads, nor who contributed to it. The Supreme Court is scheduled to decide next week whether it will hear the case.

POPS2008 San Francisco Civil Grand Jury Report On Homelessness Just Released This excerpt comes from http://www.bluoz.com/blog/index.php?url=archives/413-Civil-Grand-Jury-Report-on-Homelessness.html&serendipity =true#feedback Which is a website run by JEFF a very sane and cool SF Tenant of a crime ridden SRO (Single Room Occupancy Hotel Room) supposedly with in-house supportive services - managed by a non-profit/for profit group called Tenderloin Housing Clinic owned or directed by a lawyer or attorney named Randy Shaw. What the City of San Francisco (like the City of New York) has 'kept hidden' by sweeping their homeless into SRO's has just been blown out the door by this well done, fact based Civil Grand Jury Report. Goes to show you. Whenever a community fails to meet the needs of their entire community, including their elderly, poor, sick, disabled and homeless by NOT giving them good care with proper standards and accountabilty.

POPSCivil Rights It is your civil right to be treated equally. While we usually speak about civil rights in regards to race, religion, and nationality, today, discrimination reaches much farther.

POPSSpying On America- Police Survailance 60ties Style Not since Richard Nixon and the Anti War Movement were Americans spied on like this. Actually, it has gotten more sophisticated, widespread and more incriminating for the current government. Decent and critical opinions, have once more become synonymous with Anti-Patriotism, drugs and now: Terrorism. This must be the revenge for the sixties from those who were stopped then and now are lashing out with a vengeance.

POPSThe Twelve Apostles and Bloody Sunday (original) Like America, we had out War of Independence followed by a bloody Civil War on the issue of independence. This was also in common with many other states that gained independence. We didn't gain full independence until 1948 when we took it without a shot being fired. We did lose 6 of our 9 counties of Ulster, our northern providence. Hopefully some day our "four green fields" will be reunited peacefully. By Bush&Co's definition all our leaders would have been terrorists like Nelson Mandela , just like your own revered insurrectionists/freedom fighters/terrorists/founding fathers. Our longest serving PM and president de Valera would have been executed along with the 1916 Rising leaders only he was born in America.

POPS$10,000.00 Bill I want one. Yes - that’s a real $10,000 banknote - the largest denomination Federal Reserve Notes ever printed. They were printed up to 1945 and were issued until 1969. They are still legal tender today, however, these notes are mostly in the hands of private collectors. 4 more go 2 site.

POPSPMMG - Treinamento (continua...)
