Barack Obama for President, the only choice
glennbah
by glennbah  10-29-2008
Mr. McCain offers more of the Republican every-man-for-himself ideology, now lying in shards on Wall Street and in Americans’ bank accounts. Mr. Obama has another vision of government’s role and responsibilities.

Obama says: "McCain puts Wall Street first, Main St. last"
citizenbfk
by citizenbfk  10-24-2008    9
Thank goodness someone has the clarity of thought, power and force to break through the miasma of Republican swamp gas that has drugged the American people for so many years and turned them into zombies. WALL STREET SOCIALISM is what the Republican party has always been about. Giving more favorable tax treatment to the SuperRich then to the average person is what the Republicans have always been about. Absurd promises which have never proved true about how the wealth will "trickle down," is what the Republicans have always been about. Calling someone a socialist or a communist or a terrorist inciting class warfare when they propose fair tax treatment is what the Republicans have always been about. Saying they want smaller government and then doubling the national debt and making budgets with the greatest deficits is what the Republicans have always been about. Concentrating wealth and power into the top 1% of the nation and destroying the middle class is what Republic

Spread the Gap!
darkeforce
by darkeforce  10-23-2008
This is what the Republicans are really talking about when they falsely call Obama a Socialist; they want to make sure that the rich stay very rich, and the poor stay very poor. "Then he will say to those on his left, 'Depart from me, you who are cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels. For I was hungry and you gave me nothing to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me nothing to drink, I was a stranger and you did not invite me in, I needed clothes and you did not clothe me, I was sick and in prison and you did not look after me.' "They also will answer, 'Lord, when did we see you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or needing clothes or sick or in prison, and did not help you?' "He will reply, 'I tell you the truth, whatever you did not do for one of the least of these, you did not do for me.' Matthew 25:41-45

“I’m not giving tax cuts for the rich.”
sahara
by sahara  10-21-2008    3
“I feel very strongly that we ought to have middle-income and lower-income tax cuts, and we’ll be getting into it, I’m sure, later on in this program. Mine are basically comparable to Gov. Bush’s, in some cases far better. But I’m not sure we need to give two-thirds of that tax cut, of that money, to the wealthiest 10% of America.” —Michigan Republican Debate, Jan. 11, 2000. 3. “I always thought that class warfare was to take away from the rich. I always believed that that was what class warfare was all about. As I said, there are tax breaks and money for the richest in America and the very rich, but I think that it’s clear that there’s a growing gap between rich and poor in America, the haves and the have-nots. And many studies have indicated that, and I think that the people who need it most and need the relief most are working middle-income Americans and that’s what I want to give to them.

Democrats Get Ripped for Bailout Bill from Their Own
blueridge
by blueridge  10-6-2008    4
The author is just getting warmed up in this clip. The entire article is worth a look at. (Actually, comparing Obama to Brutus is not a good analogy, for Brutus slew a tyrant Caesar, where Obama aided and abetted the financial czars and the Fed instead of defending the republic). The politics of Obama and the fearful Dems (Pelosi) cannot be overlooked in passing the bailout (even with republicans resisting): He lobbied hard for the bill. He did so, according to some who met with him on Capitol Hill, because he feared that if he opposed the bailout and it triggered a market collapse it could cost him the election. Better to placate the thieves on Wall Street than stand up for the masses of enraged and swindled citizens.

A Tale Of Two Economies

"What is so brazen is they do not come in the dead of night to steal your money. They look you right in the eye and tell you that it is in your best interest.Their wars were not based on freedom but on money. You kids died so they could make more money and they looked you right in the eye while they took your kids too; wrapped a flag around them and milked them for as much oil revenue as they could get their hands on. There are two economies in this country. The haves and the have nots. The haves believe that the have nots exist for their benefit."

Praising Lucifer The 1st radical who fought the establishment. What do you think of this guy. This philosophy. Might there be a take-over of a larger magnitude than we can contemplate? Might both parties be "party" to it? While most of either one is really unaware but willingly - actively allowing themselves to be led to the trough - by the scattered few really in the know.(?) Both of the last two administrations? And the upcoming one ! How about Paulson. Hasn't it really been the slow crawl away from capitalism the last 20 years that has led to this mess? (Amid cries blaming dereg. to distract us.) The taking of the people's money as they make noises about rescuing our money? And the ushering in of the next level of double-talk: CLASS WARFARE! "Rise UP" C-O-M-M-U-N-I-ty !

Obama’s Speech: Consider These Goalposts Moved!
merrie
by merrie  8-6-2008    1
For the men and women of Reverend Wright’s generation, the memories of humiliation and doubt and fear have not gone away; nor has the anger and the bitterness of those years. But the anger is real; it is powerful; and to simply wish it away, to condemn it without understanding its roots, only serves to widen the chasm of misunderstanding that exists between the races. Really? How about understanding its roots but not condemning it? That’s what Obama did for 20 years, implicitly lending himself to the cause of racial division — he finally admits early in the speech that he heard “remarks that could be considered controversial while I sat in church,” although these appear to be of a lesser grade somehow than the stuff that’s been airing on Fox — and only now with the presidency at stake has he awakened to the perniciousness of silence. Profoundly Superficial

who were conveniently at hand. What would one more war crime matter in a record already so monstrous? At Nuremberg, the Soviet Union was invited to sit in judgment of its old partner in aggression — on a charge of waging aggressive war. To wit, the war of aggression that the Soviet Union joined with Nazi Germany to ignite in September of 1939. Barack Obama would have been on sounder ground if he had cited the proceedings at Nuremberg not as an example of justice but irony. Sen. Obama usually responds directly to the question he’s asked rather than riding off in all directions. He pays his interlocutor the courtesy of careful attention and a respectful answer. But once Barack Obama is no longer trading in some staple of his party’s appeal — identity politics, say, or class warfare — and starts messing with history, he demonstrates only the most tenuous hold on his subject. And he winds up, again like Bill Clinton, sounding profoundly superficial.

Obama's Very Close With Racist Preacher Rev.Wright
merrie
by merrie  3-16-2008
In light of the criticism of Bush’s injecting “too much religion” in his presidency or that his administration is just like a ”Christian Taliban”, it is also a legitimate question to ask, where are those same accusers when this 2007 speech by Barack Obama is so filled with religious fervor? Where are the anti-religious left and the so-called separation of Church and Staters at now? In fact, this entire speech is filled with nothing but class warfare, expansions of social programs, raising the minimum wage, typical great society type junk all couched squarely as a civic responsibility enmeshed with Obama's view of Biblical precepts. But, that boiler plate aside, there was two very interesting segments in Obama's remarks concerning his racist "spiritual mentor," Rev. Jeremiah Wright, Jr. that are not getting the press it deserves. (See the video at Channel 2 News Chicago) http://cbs2chicago.com/video/?id=33004@wbbm.dayport.com

The scourge of global neoliberalism and the need to reclaim democracy
Rasmus
by Rasmus  2-16-2008    2
With power loosened from traditional modes of politics, public policy has been hijacked by global corporate elites and the state has been forced to abandon its comprehensive social welfare agenda in order to cater to the needs of the plutocrats. Wedded to the belief that the market should be the organizing principle for all political, social, and economic decisions, neoliberalism wages an incessant attack on democracy, public institutions, and non-commodified values. Privatization, deregulation, commercialization, and cuts in social spending rule the day and the prevailing mentality is that everything is for sale and what is not has no value as a public good or practice.

If the swing towards Romney in California continues , he will emerge from Tuesday's contest in a solid second place with a new narrative and a renewed debate about the race --can Romney surpass McCain in Ohio and Texas in March? The rapidly fading Huck would simply disappear, as he is doing in many places where the obvious has already registered: A vote for Huckabee is a vote for McCain. A vote for McCain is a vote AGAINST the traditional family and traditional family values.

The Real McCain Record Mark Levin NRO
merrie
by merrie  1-13-2008
His supporters point to essentially one policy strength, McCain’s early support for a surge and counterinsurgency. It has now evolved into McCain taking credit for forcing the president to adopt General David Petreaus’s strategy. Where’s the evidence to support such a claim? McCain has repeatedly called for the immediate closing of Guantanamo Bay and the introduction of al-Qaeda terrorists into our own prisons — despite the legal rights they would immediately gain and the burdens of managing such a dangerous population. While McCain proudly and repeatedly points to his battles with Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld, who had to rebuild the U.S. military and fight a complex war, where was McCain in the lead-up to the war — when the military was being dangerously downsized by the Clinton administration. Where was McCain when the CIA was in desperate need of attention? McCain was apparently in the dark about al-Qaeda like most of Washington, despite a decade of warnings.

Huckabee's "Shiite Republicans" A Standard Populist Slur?
merrie
by merrie  1-12-2008
My question for you evangelicals is this: If you're looking for a real conservative, why are you supporting Huckabee? He's completely discredited himself. What about Fred Thompson, if you're looking for a real conservative? Huckabee is constantly engaging in class warfare against the producers. This "laid-off" line, it's an attack on Romney, but it's an attack on producers. It's an attack on employers. It's pure populism. He does oppose school choice! You don't get the NEA endorsement in New Hampshire by supporting school choice. I think I know what is happening here, Mr. Snerdley, who is the official screener of calls here today. I think that the Huckabee campaign has finally figured it out. I think that we've got behind-the-scenes advisors in some cases calling in here, and advisors are having some of their people call in here. http://www.riehlworldview.com/carnivorous_conservative/2008/01/huckabees-shiit.html
