Judicial Watch Scrutinizing Clinton White House Pardon
merrie
by merrie  3-21-2008
Fitton says the Rich pardon was particularly scandalous because of "copious" financial contributions made by Denise Rich, Marc Rich's ex-wife, to Hillary Clinton's Senate campaign and the Clinton Presidential Library foundation in the months leading up to the pardon. According to Fitton, the scandal is still relevant today in light of Mrs. Clinton's current run for the White House because the pardons are part of the experience which she widely touts in terms of her days at the White House. "The pardon scandal involved the entire Clinton family -- Bill, Hillary, Hillary's brothers, Bill's brother. Hillary herself was involved in the scandals, conveying pardon applications to Bill Clinton," Fitton contends.

Hillary Clinton's Massive Conflict Of Interest
merrie
by merrie  2-8-2008    13
And it is for exactly this kind of situation that the Clintons should be required to divulge the extent of their involvement with foreign interests and exactly how much money their personal bank accounts and their Library/Foundation have received. Hillary and Bill have also refused to release their income tax returns, despite the fact that Bill willingly released his when he was running for president. Why hasn’t Barack Obama or John Edwards even mentioned this issue? Their attacks on Hillary’s links to lobbyists and other special interes ts are usually painted with a broad brush. But the journey of America’s banks abroad in search of a bailout makes this specific conflict a key question of policy and highly relevant to their campaigns. What better illustration could one have of Hillary’s conflicts of interest than this one?

BILL & HILL'S LATEST INTRIGUE
merrie
by merrie  12-21-2007    6
Moreover, reports the Times, the foundation's donations are up 70 percent since Hillary's campaign got under way - with two-thirds of the money coming from just 11 donors. For his part, the former president says he'll be happy to start naming names and amounts - but not until Hillary is elected. Even then, he says, past donors will remain anonymous, "unless there is some conflict of which I am aware." However, he insists, "there is none." Pardon us if we don't simply take his word for it. Again, the possibilities for using the foundation for influence-peddling are enormous - and, sad to say, Team Clinton doesn't exactly have an illustrious record in safeguarding against any abuse. Unless there is something they don't want us to know, the Clintons should provide some genuine transparency and make the names and amounts public.

Saudis 10 Million Dollar Contribution To Clinton Library
merrie
by merrie  12-15-2007
"As I reported last month, the official donor list of the Clinton Library has never been publicly released." ABC stated: The issue of contributions to the Clinton library has gotten fresh attention disgraced Clinton fund-raiser Norman Hsu... Clinton aides have declined to say whether Hsu has given any money to the foundation that funds the Clinton Presidential Library, or whether such funds have been returned
