POPSIndian "Honor" Killing At the risk of sounding like Bones, I understand, anthropologically, why it was forbidden in the past for people of a village to marry, and it even may be a valid action now ( I live in a town of less than 500 people, and trust me, almost everyone is related), but the murder was, I think, wrong. POPSOur Iraqi Friends Have No Trouble Killing Gays This is a very disturbing story about how gay people are treated under the law in Iraq, as well as how militias will simply just kill them. Families too, will kill gay children or siblings as "honour killings." It makes my blood run cold that we consider this a nascent democracy, that is already starting off with serious human rights problems. Why is the U.S. not making any noise about this issue. Are gays, once again, considered disposable and not really worth making an issue of? I realize a war is going on, but the U.S. should not simply ignore the cold blooded murder or torture of people based on the sexual orientation.
