POPSMichelle Obama Scores a Big Goal! The most natural thing to have said for this Clip Title was, actually, to say: "Michelle Obama Hits a Home Run!" For an American audience "hits a home run," is a powerful phrase and such phrases and natural plain but powerful way of speaking American English is one of cool things about the Obama campaign: their natural talk. Yesterday Michelle spoke before a crowd of 12,000 and made a point -- and incredibly powerful point that slashed at Republicans and made an essential statement associated with Democrats -- all in the same sentence. She said (starting out with a reference to Republicans). She said: "They talk a good game about family values, but we want policies that value families." DANG! The intro phrase" "They talk a good game," says so much in so few words. To strike out at Republicans for emphasizing "family values," (i.e. abortion, gay rights, etc.) says more. To contrast that with "valuing the family," --- dang! -- that's a Home Run. These fo

POPSAs Wall St. Melts Down, McCain Says 'The Fundamentals of Our Economy are Strong' Is McCain really this tone deaf on the issue of the economy? This is really the last thing he needs -- a debate on the issues. He's desperately been trying to avoid that by running a campaign of PC victimhood and personal attacks. I guess we now see why that is. The report tells us: Obama just took his expected whack at McCain during a rally in Grand Junction, Colo. Rhetorically, he asked his audience why "today, of all days" McCain would make his comment about the economy's fundamentals. "Sen. McCain, what economy are you talking about?" he said. I wonder how Baghdad Johnny's going to try to weasel out of this debate? Time to talk issues, John. You've avoided it for too long.

POPSShroud Stirs A New Controversy It's like looking for Noah's Ark to me. Why would you want to search when the truth is right here before you? Regardless of that, I'm awed and amazed by the story.

POPSNo Swing State Coverage of McCain's 'Race Card' Claim I think what's going on here is that these swing state papers are on the front lines -- they see the letters to the editor that aren't printed and they know that there's just a buttload of racism on the right. As a result, they see Obama's statements as pretty accurate and self-evident. McCain's claims must seem to them to be a little insane.

POPS Finger-Licking KFC In Fallujah, Iraq Full Meal $3.50 “I remember when I was here last in July 2004 and things were much different than they are now,” said Sgt. Steve J. Arnoux, a 25-year-old vehicle commander from Browning, Mont. “When we would go out on convoys in the city, the attitude was a lot different. It seemed like we were just waiting to get ambushed. Now we stop at KFC.”

POPSGOP Fights For Expedited Delivery Of Ballots To Military In 2000 military ballots were targeted for challenge in the famous Florida recount , and only 48% of the overseas members of the military who requested absentee ballots for the 2006 election had their ballots counted, according to the U.S. Election Assistance Commission. Conservatives believe that members of Congress should fight as hard for the right of our military to vote as our military has fought to allow Iraq to have a constitutional democracy. Sens. Wayne Allard (R-Colo.) and John Cornyn (R-Texas), along with Reps. Roy Blunt (R-Mo.) and Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) are engaging in legislative combat for the rights of our military to vote in the 2008 election.

POPSObama: "I need to earn troops' trust" Before they can trust, they have to respect. Clinton never got the respect of the troops other than the lickspittle Gen. Wesley Clark. Similarly, this empty suit, al Qaeda sleeper cell Hussein Obama, will never gain that respect. He represents the Left who continually stabbed them in the back during the long war.
