POPSDonating Sperm A sperm donor is most frequently used in IUI (intrauterine insemination) or IVF (in vitro fertilization). IUI can be done at your OB/GYN, but IVF must be done through a Reproductive Endocrinologist. You can choose to do an at-home insemination, although state laws vary as to what is allowed. You have to decide what traits are most important to you. Banks may have infancy, childhood or even adult photos of the donor to help you choose. You may wish to match hair and eye color or ethnic origin. Most clinics offer consultation (either free or for a price) to help you find your perfect match! Prices range from a few hundred to a few thousand dollars, depending on the clinic. * Cost of vials of sperm: $180 - $250. (Usually 2-3 vials needed for cycle) * Consultations: $50 -$100. * Brief Profiles in donors: free - $10 each * Long Profiles on the sperm donor: $5 -$25.

POPSBuilding a Site: Editing & Formatting
User Observation: Once I got a portion of text to underline in a section, I couldn't get it to turn off. I'd originally selected the entire area and hit the underline button. No function seems to turn it off. >>>Okay, ultimately I got the "normal formatting" (or whatever it's called) button to work, but it was not dependable. (As were a number of the text feature functions. I had to click on them repeatedly.) Also, I found it irritating that the text color select tool wouldn't just stay open. Every time I actually applied color to text, it would close. So when I wanted to apply it to another section, I had to wait for th color chart to open again. Also, I couldn't select multiple sections throughout the copy (of non-adjoining text) to apply the same treatment (like bold and color all the first lines blue). Some of the common features one comes to expect in word processing functions & found in many apps these days aren't available. NOTE TO GOTAMOBI: I realize this is out of our hands &

POPSFlorida Vote Suppression: Back in Business
A newspaper investigation found that the measure resulted in tens of thousands of voters being rejected, the overwhelming majority of them minorities. Back in December, a district court agreed with the argument by the groups -- the NAACP, the Haitian-American Grassroots Coalition, and Southwest Voter Registration Education Project -- that the law ought to be halted from going into effect while the lawsuit was decided. That decision was overturned yesterday. “Yesterday’s ruling by the appellate court represents a setback for all eligible Floridians, particularly voters of color, who wish to register to vote and participate in the upcoming presidential elections,” said Elizabeth Westfall of Advancement Project ... But Justin Levitt, counsel at the Brennan Center for Justice, said that the suit would go on and that “the trial court must now consider whether disenfranchising thousands of eligible citizens because of typos, is consistent with the U.S. Constitution.”

POPSCopy color palettes from old masters to your own photos Someone asked in a forum: "within the last 6 months or so, I came across a program (freeware) which claimed to let you make any of your images have the "look" of another image. In particular, if you had an image of say a Rembrandt painting, you could copy that look to one of your own images. No doubt photoshop experts can do that sort of thing, but I haven't got photoshop." The forum replies included a link to a great Photoshop tutorial and a image editing plug-in called Matrix ( panix.com ) that works with Irfanview and Paint Shop Pro.
