And you have your danger zone, where someone is physically threatening you and you have to get away. In between are zones of dissonance, where you take risks and where learning happens. In order to learn, you have to be willing to explore those zones of dissonance. Hence, Experience Discomfort. Expect and Accept Non-Closure. It’s hard. My Spanish is pitiful, my Cantonese non-existent, and I don’t like being the one who is struggling to keep up. But it’s essential. To me, my work on intersectionality and race is an essential part of my geek feminist identity. It’s about deconstructing how I feel when I am the marginalized one, and applying those insights to other spheres of my life, where I am the one doing the marginalization. It’s about belonging to a community that does real work and overcomes real challenges. This is what I want for my daughters.

POPSA cocktail bar with no drink menu: Drink (Boston, MA) More: As the cocktail authority Dale DeGroff has noted, the cocktail is “as American as jazz, apple pie, and baseball.” Classic cocktail bars are to the toper what the new crop of “classic” baseball stadiums are to the sports fan—places where we can cheer a return to our roots.… I admire what Drink is doing in eliminating the cocktail menu: asking you to put yourself in the hands of a knowledgeable guide who can edge you beyond your comfort zone into a new experience. Still, I hope it eventually prints one up. Sometimes the bartender will be too harried to take a full patient history, and perusing a list of drinks and their ingredients is a great education. I also hope Drink might embrace another new trend, that of listing obscure classic cocktails interpreted by and credited to talented bartenders working today in other cities. Such a list is like a blog with links to other worthwhile blogs, except that the links are potable.

POPS Susan Wows Crowds First Night of Britain's Got Talent Live Tour She took to the stage in Birmingham National Indoor Arena at 9pm in the second half of the two-hour show and performed two songs back to back. Miss Boyle got off to a faltering start, appearing to be slightly out of time during the first verse of Memory from Cats - the song she performed in the Britain's Got Talent semi-final. But she soon seemed to get into her comfort zone, lapping up the crowd's cheers and looking a different person to the fragile individual who entered the Priory.

This Christian apologist is so over the top that his screeds are actually side splitting funny. AS far as I'm concerned, Old Ray is a true representative of much of what's wrong with evangenitals these days. The only downside of posting this clip is that there are still enough science challenged folks out there that will accept what Comfort says as valid proof of their dogma. So be warned - if you flunked high school science you may be sucked into the "Comfort Zone".
