POPSKangaroo genes 'close to humans' This explains why "Skippy the Bush Kangaroo" was able to do so much good in the TV show. And I'd always thought it was crap that the human could understand the kangaroo.

POPSReplace Western Capitalism With Islamic Economic System?
This is so because, at its core, Shariah is sedition: It explicitly espouses the violent overthrow of all secular governments and constitutions – including those of the United States – in favor of a global Islamic theocracy. The Yerushalmi memo makes clear that Shariah advisors – who play a central role in this industry as it falls to them to determine whether transactions are Shariah-compliant or not – and/or the companies that employ them appear to be involved in one or more of the following: racketeering, anti-trust violations, consumer and securities fraud or material support for terror. Senator Jon Kyl, the Senate's number two Republican and senior member of Finance Committee found the conclusions of the Yerushalmi memo to be sufficiently alarming that in August he sought official reactions to its findings from Bob Kimmitt's boss, Treasury Secretary Henry Paulson, SEC Chairman Chris Cox, Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke and Attorney General Michael Mukasey.

POPSIs The Film 'An American Carol' Being Sabotaged At The Box Office? Obviously, this type of "error" sometimes requires collusion between employees--a way of marking the ticket so that you are sent to the correct theater, even though you've been sold the wrong ticket. Before anyone jumps to conclusions and chalks this up to politics, the fact is this is a fairly rare but not unheard of occurrence. There have been payola scandals in the past and it usually has more to do with either juicing the numbers for a big budget release or, more prosaically, lazy or incompetent ticket sellers at the theaters. Would I put it past Hollywood to collude with theater owners to depress sales of AAC? No, but in this case I think it best to use Occam's Razor - everything being equal, the simplest and least complicated answer is probably the right one. “Please email us a picture of your ticket stub to: fraud@americancarol.com

POPSForensic spotlight cast on Bach's music Of course there must have been a reason Bach would have wanted to write, it's one thing to have the Talent but there needs to be a reason for Music rather than Just the Music it's self. POPSDevastation of World's Coral Imminent? According to a new study in Geophysical Research Letters, the world's coral could be devastated by rising CO2 levels. This isn't just an issue for science --- the tourist economy in various countries would also be devastated if coral reefs were to vanish. I've written about this before here: http://www.forbes.com/2008/03/06/travel-sustainable-coastlines-forbeslife-cx_rr_0307travel.html. More recently, I wrote about endangered natural wonders and the business of tourism here: http://www.forbes.com/travel/2008/09/15/travel-endangered-ecosystems-forbeslife-cx_rr_0915travel.html.
