POPS5 Psychological Experiments That Expose Humanity's Dark Side #2. The Stanford Prison Experiment (1971) The Setup: Psychologist Philip Zimbardo wanted to find out how captivity affects authorities and inmates in prison. Sounds innocent enough. Seriously, what could go wrong? #1. The Milgram Experiment (1961) The Setup: When the prosecution of the Nazis got underway at the Nuremberg Trials, many of the defendants' excuse seemed to revolve around the ideas of, "I'm not really a prick" and, "Hey man, I was just following orders." Yale University psychologist Stanley Milgram wanted to test willingness of subjects to obey an authority figure. Maybe he could just, you know, ask people? Oh, hell no. That would not be nearly horrifying enough.

POPSDangers of "Group Think" Evident in March to War These are characteristics of most all groups, especially highly charged political parties which are easily recognized here. Note the silence of individuals plays a key role in conformity. Speak up! Collective Rationalization reminds me of the "group think" that led America to war against Iraq (per the neoconservatives preconceived plans), even though it did not harbor terrorists or attack the U.S., just because Bush and Cheney, after 9/11, said so. This same "group think" is within the entire story of 9/11 and the Collective Rationalization for a continued "war on terrorism" to invade other countries at will. GROUP THINK MUST BE CHALLENGED TO PREVENT UNJUST WARS. Number 8 (did not have room to clip) is here: Mindguards: Some members appoint themselves to the role of protecting the group from adverse information that might threaten group complacency.

POPSBailouts Represent Usurped Dictatorial Powers by Bush, Fed, and Treasury Bloomberg warns, read the whole article. Bush, the Fed, the Treasury are seizing power, upon an Economic 9/11, and Congress is being coerced into immediate conformity (not wanting to take the blame for "doing nothing", while the financial companies who caused it escape accountability with free bailout) during an election season (Obama and McCain are quoted). The power is dictatorial and dangerous. It is in fact another Usurpation of power.

POPSPalin Pledges Allegiance to AIPAC--Stamped "Approved"
From "Alaska First", and by-passing "America First", Palin goes straight to "Israel First". By consequence and definition then she can no longer be considered a "reformer". Like McCain, Obama, Pelosi, Hillary, and every other former 2008 candidate, the ultimate test of worthiness is not the American people but to the overbearing Lobby of a foreign government that sets the course of foreign policy in alliance with the neoconservatives--ensuring a continuance of the phony "war on terrorism"--to "make the world safe for Democracy" through wars for "regime change". How quickly Washington transforms everyone, even from the remotest states, by coercing conformity to global democratic agenda and blind allegiance to Israel through the muscle of The Lobby. This trumps all other considerations, is the hallmark of foreign policy (and why wars never cease), which also in turn has consequences on the economy (high gas prices, national debt, value of money) and domestic policy as well.

POPSMinds and myths "..Other sciences certainly do have their own myths – just think of the story of Newton and the falling apple or Archimedes leaping out of the bath following his Eureka insight. Perhaps myths just seem more prominent in psychology because we tend to talk and write about our science in terms of studies rather than facts."

POPSLesbian rights pioneer Del Martin dies "Ever since I met Del 55 years ago, I could never imagine a day would come when she wouldn't be by my side," Lyon, 83, said in a statement. "I am so lucky to have known her, loved her and been her partner in all things."

POPSGoldwater Quotes “Where is the politician who has not promised to fight to the death for lower taxes- and who has not proceeded to vote for the very spending projects that make tax cuts impossible?" “It's political Daddyism and it's as old as demagogues and despotism.” “The rights that we have under the Constitution covers anything we want to do, as long as its not harmful. I can't see any way in the world that being a gay can cause damage to somebody else,” If I had inherited the mess that Johnson got into, I would have said to North Vietnam, by dropping leaflets out of B-52s, 'You quit the war in three days or the next time these babies come over there going to drop some big bombs on you.' And I'd make a swamp out of North Vietnam ... I'd rather kill a hell of a lot of North Vietnamese than one American and we've lost enough of them,”

POPSChaplains Serve Soldiers Given that attitude they feel attacked by “the devil” when prayer and Bible readings are outlawed in public schools, when active proselytizing is stopped at the Air Force Academy and now when prayers are requested to be removed from mandatory meals at the Naval Academy. Each of these initiatives is, however, not only correct, but each brings practice into conformity with the Constitution. I rejoice in this decision.

POPSOn The Road Again, Somehow . . . "Maybe another national stereotype -- American ingenuity -- will finally kick in and get us all back on the road, where we belong. In Whitman's words: The road is before us. .../ Be not detained."

POPSREAL ID: 50 States' Citizens Free to Travel; Senators Grill Chertoff This is a good analysis on REAL ID, as their is much posturing going on by the Dept. of Homeland Tyranny (aka Security) as to the results. Bottom line is the States rebelled, and the anti-Constitutional Department is compromising, but still pushing. May 11th was the deadline date, but it has been arbitrarily moved, and has no definitive standards. Chertoff's goal is to feign compromise while coercing and gaining increasing conformity. The freedom to travel as free citizens should not, and legally cannot, be impeded. To set up a new criteria for just who will be treated like "free citizens", instead of criminal suspects, without probable cause or search warrant, on the basis of a national (i.e. federalized) ID card is unconstitutional.

POPSTruther Long Before It Was Cool We may suffer fools gladly but rarely liars, especially official ones. The state lies as official policy. Thus, to be a Truther, in the very real sense (pre-9/11), is never to accept the official version of Anything the state tells you at face value. Even stupid sheep refuse to follow those they do not know or trust. So why do stupid Americans follow blindly, accept lies or swallow fraud and fakery?

POPSYou can be spiritual without the church I'm not sure how to "bring people of all races, cultures and heritage together under one happy banner" but I have followed a spiritual path for all my life without a church or organized releigion...Look under any rock in nature and within your own soul and heart to find the Divine. Dogma kills the soul.

POPSUK in Disarray Over European Union (EU) The grand chessboard to world government is not easy, it produces great conflict. While the EU has managed to alter the currency of all of Europe to the Euro, and used economics to usurp the sovereignty of the independent countries, citizens of UK are justly resisting, throwing their Parliament and leadership into scrambling for what to do to bring conformity. An attempt at a EU Constitution failed. Good. This is what will happen in America as they attempt a North American Union, then American Union (hemispheric, north and south)--which Chavez is resisting. African Union is also in the works, while a "war on terrorism" is seeking to conform and transform the Middle East, Indonesia toward the same goal.

POPSUN Imposes New Sanctions on Iran--Increases Conflict As Ron Paul warns UN sanctions are a pathway to wars, and always the new justifications for them, as was the case with Iraq. The UN is not "moderate", or a world savior, it is an arbitrary usurping world governing body stacked with the "powers that be" moving all toward world conformity by either incentive or force. Since the UN was formed, after the WWI League of Nations failed, wars and global conflicts have increased, not decreased. The UN is nothing less than a global "gang" teaming up to suppress and usurp all sovereign rule under the pretense of "democracy" and "world peace", and its tenants are entirely supported by the Bush family and neocons, while their tactics may differ. To suggest that only "UN approved" nations can have nuclear power, even weapons, makes clear their goal of global dominance, as if their ideological dictatorial rule is not tyrannical in nature.
