Lieberman's hubris
Palema
by Palema  11-10-2008
It's really laughable that Lieberman is dictating to the Senate Majority Leader. Sure he's been in office quite a while. But he has withdrawn himself from the party. In my experience you argue as hard as you like within the party for the candidate of your choice; but once the party decides, you either work for that candidate, or -- if you really can't stomach them -- you sit on your hands during the campaign. If you are so principled as to oppose the candidate of your party, you would be principled enough to depart.

Sen. Ted Stevens (R-AK) Indicted For Being Sleazy
merrie
by merrie  8-2-2008    22
And the “Congressional White Caucus” won’t jump to defend Sen. Stevens the way the Congressional Black Caucus did for William Jefferson. Why? Because Sen. Stevens’ actions — just like those of Sen. Jefferson — are indefensible. Oh, and the fact that there isn’t anything as absurdly segregationist and just plain absurd as a Congressional White Caucus. ________ With the possible exception of Rep. John Culberson (R-TX), Sen. Tom Coburn (R-OK), Sen. Jim Demint (R-SC), and Sen. Joe Lieberman (I-CN) — I think we should expel every other member of Congress and start over with people of honest and integrity…but more than that, people who don’t think my money is their money. Leaders committed to truly small and limited government. Sadly, our country is headed in exactly the opposite direction.

Green Schools
rachaelkeriwilliams

Maybe I'm just missing something that has been going on behind the scenes, but it seems to me that the Buffalo Board of Education has not been incorporating rigorous standards into the massive rehabilitation of the schools which started a couple of years ago- but I will have to check on this a bit more. I think that it would probably be beneficial to halt the plans in order to incorporate more green strategies rather than continueing on at this point and then having to make changes in a couple of years when the government requires such measures of public facilities.

Gays Yeah, God Nea,
Eaglewings
by Eaglewings  6-13-2008    21
These two stands as beacons to the trend in our society to normalize that which is abnormal and demonize that which is holy. Or in other words, blaspheme that which is good and right and uphold as honorable that which is unholy and perverse. Obviously there is an "AGENDA" to promote homosexual causes across our land via the US congress while at the same time there is another "AGENDA" to oppose any movement of God across this nation. If your Gay we say YEAH if your Christian we say Nea. And then we wonder why our country is in a mess?

Bush Limits Availability of Children’s Health Coverage
LOPix
by LOPix  8-21-2007
SCHIP was created in 1997 to help insure children whose families earned too much to qualify for Medicaid but not enough to afford insurance on their own. It serves about 6.6 million children annually. Under the new policy, a state seeking to enroll a child whose family earns more than 250 percent of the poverty level -- or $51,625 for a family of four -- must first ensure that the child is uninsured for at least one year. The state must also demonstrate that at least 95 percent of children from families making less than 200 percent of the poverty level have been enrolled in the children's health insurance program or Medicaid -- a sign-up rate that no state has yet managed. Rep. Rahm Emanuel (Ill.), chairman of the House Democratic Caucus, said if the president were serious about enrolling the lowest-income children, the administration would allow states to sign up youngsters for SCHIP when they qualify for school-lunch and other federal programs.
