The Shweeb velodrome is the worlds first human powered monorail racetrack [PICS]
clip-on-tie
by clip-on-tie  Today 8:05 AM
WOOOHOOOO! Looks like fun! The Shweeb velodrome is the world’s first human-powered monorail racetrack. It has two long overhead rail circuits, varying in height between two and four metres above the ground. High-performance pedal-powered vehicles hang under the tracks. The pods swing freely from side to side and as your speed picks up, you swing wildly around corners and soar high and low over undulating terrain. Up to five vehicles can be loaded onto each track, enabling teams to race each other either one-on-one or in tandem or you can race against the clock.

Constitution? Treaties? Sovereignty?
davboz
by davboz   10-20-2009
The lamenting over the obstacle that is the Constitution goes on with Liberals and World-Order phony Conservatives (read: today's Republicans) alike. Puppet cable news pundits want to imprint an image of Independents as moderates - in the "middle" of either "fringe". It depends, doesn't it? Higher elites of both persuasions strive to find a way to topple the Constitution, maybe to slightly varying goals, while the Independents really want to maintain sovereignty and the Constitution. Doesn't that put Ind.'s on the Right, with Rep.'s & Dem.'s on the Left? Criticisms against Obama policies are met by Bush criticisms. Enough. That's the wrong paradigm. Isn't it ? Aren't they both the puppets for those of NO county? Of NO allegiance but to a World Gov.? Or am I all wet, here?

Trivia about the year 2000, the year 2000 was considered as the year of the Overseas Filipino Workers or OFW's, they were reagrded as the country's modern day heroes not only because of their contribution to the country's economy but by the way they project the Filipinos as a world class workforce. By virtue of Proclamation No. 243 signed by President Joseph Ejercito Estrada proclaimed the year 2000 as the year of OFW's

Why Socialists Pursue Socialism to the Ends of the Earth
merrie

. . . and offers the only internally consistent explanation for their historic obsession with divisive policy. From their early support of Hitler to their central role in the current financial crisis, the Left’s contribution to domestic and foreign policy at federal, state and local levels can only be described as wantonly destructive. Their takeover of schools and popular culture has been equally toxic. Their environmental radicalism has spawned the energy crisis, while offering no viable alternatives. It defies logic. But there is logic, a deadly logic, and in the '60’s, two radicals gave it a name: the Cloward-Piven Strategy. As explained in the prior article in this series, the goal was to create a groundswell of demands for public services to overwhelm government, create crisis and usher in a widespread call for fundamental economic reform at the federal level, with socialism the ultimate goal. Cloward and Piven focused on welfare, voting,

Legalized Bribery in American Politics
sahara
by sahara  10-1-2009    1
Just one in a thousand adult Americans contributed $1,000 or more to any candidate in the last election, yet candidates for the 2004 presidential nomination raised more than 80 percent of their individual investments from these elites. In other words, with regard to using money to influence presidential candidates, 0.1% of Americans account for 80% of the influence. 2300 energy companies lobbied Congress between 1998 and 2004, with $984 million paid for lobbyists. Why pay a lobbyist $300,000? Because it’s a great investment, of course. Does anyone believe the legal fiction that the purpose of a lobbyist is to educate politicians on the issues? Of course not. Those huge bucks are paid out for skilled middle-men and women to discreetly (or not so discreetly) convey the message that a politician will be handsomely rewarded for screwing over his or her constituents in favor of the lobbyist’s employer.

Tax on Housing
Per Eriksson
by Per Eriksson  9-21-2009
I know how much we all like taxes but a tax on mew housing might not be so silly. Let me explain. For some time I think we have been living above our means. Where we live has become larger and larger and more expensive to maintain. An incentive to build a smaller home could be a way to get us thinking smaller and to live with what we can afford. With other words if you like to build a mansion yes you pay for the extra building cost and also for the extra size in form of a tax after all you most probably can afford it :-) What do you think?

Brown's treachery
notareargunner
by notareargunner  9-19-2009
Twelve years I have been writing this. Personal experience means nothing to a government that is wholly interested in self preservation, greed and envy. Had the military the courage of the troopie, the Brass would have stuffed Health & Safety up the politicos arsehole. All too often we are witnessing the legacy of politicians enforcing political correctness on a way of life that not a one has the faintest clue about. Only recently I have witnessed young officers doing a single tour of the battle zones, to come home and resign, yet The Brass does nothing. What have these honourable and courageous young people witnessed that has marked them so badly? Every piece of video news from The Front fills me with anger as I witness my life’s work being destroyed with the needless waste of all these young lives. Young Brits who ought to have gaining from my generations knowledge, but they have not. Whilst I salute the valour and contribution of the women on the front line, I cannot help bu

FDNY's New Fire Boat to Honor 343 Bravest
merrie
by merrie  9-11-2009
Smith told the station that the letters spelling out 'Three Forty Three" were all cut from World Trade Center and welded on by the shipyard's workers. Not only will the fire boat be the biggest, he said it also will be the highest in capacity, pumping close to 50 thousand gallons a minute -- equivalent to about 50 average size city fire engines. "This thing as far as looking at fire fighting as a battle this thing's a nuclear weapon compared to what they've got," he said. The ceremonial launch will consist of the traditional breaking of a champagne bottle across the bow, followed by the first splash down of the ship into the Gulf. FDNY officials in attendance at the ceremony will include: Chief of Special Operations William Seelig, Chief of Marine Operations James Dalton, Battalion Chief of Marine Operations Michael Buckheit and Retired Chief of Special Operations William Siegel.
