POPSStop Blaming Capitalism For Government Failures stagnation had Americans looking for an alternative. That’s what Reagan offered, denouncing big government and promising a new “morning in America.” Under Reagan, some taxes were reduced, inflation was subdued, a few regulations were relaxed--and the economy roared back to life. But while markets were able to function to a greater degree than in the immediate past, the regulatory and welfare state remained largely untouched, with government spending continuing to increase, as well as some taxes. Later administrations were even worse. Bush Jr., often laughably called a champion of free markets, presided over massive new governmental controls like Sarbanes-Oxley and massive new welfare programs like the prescription drug benefit. None of this is consistent with capitalism. As the economic system that fully recognizes and protects individual rights, including the right to private property, capitalism means, in Ayn Rand’s words,

POPSAnatomy of a false memory A new study now reconciles these conflicting data, by showing that the different regions of the brain previously implicated are involved in different kinds of memory errors. It also pinpoints a specific region as being involved in false memories, and could help researchers better understand how the brain controls memory.

POPSProposed Utah coal plant blocked by EPA panel I sure am glad there was no EPA when I was growing up in W.Va. and Grandpa warmed our house with the coal stove in the middle of the living room. It's going to be a cold winter for most since everywhere alternative option is blocked by somebody. And I believe Obama promised to "bankrupt" the coal industry anyway. We'll be back to rubbin' two sticks together and huddled around a fire. Ooops! Can't cut down trees either. :~(

POPSObama Wants Lieberman in Dem Caucus for Foreign Policy
Lieberman is a Dem neocon and endorsed McCain. Why not just include McCain in the Dem Caucus then! This will continue the neocon and Zionist (Israel first) foreign policy of unjust wars for "regime change", a Democratic Jihad (holy war) if you will, under pretense of "war on terrorism" which Obama fully endorses. Obama wants a pro-war Democratic leadership to support his pro-war policy as he revealed in debates with McCain and on his middle east visit. Thus keeping Lieberman is key because the caucus controls the party in its "group think". His support of Lieberman with his pick of "Rahmbo" Emanuel (a very presumptuous name, meaning "God with us" in Hebrew , referring to Christ by the prophets) for Chief of Staff, foretells Obama's true foreign policy that will "change" little from McCain outside of Iraq. Lieberman changed to Independent after losing a Dem primary election, then won as independent. Anti-war Dems are being blocked out.

POPSAdding Up Obama + Pelosi + Reid + Frank Self-serving rubbish. McCain is who he always was. Generally speaking, he sees government as a Rooseveltian counterweight (Teddy with a touch of Franklin) to the various malefactors of wealth and power. He wants government to tackle large looming liabilities such as Social Security and Medicare. He wants to free up health insurance by beginning to sever its debilitating connection to employment — a ruinous accident of history (arising from World War II wage and price controls) that increases the terror of job loss, inhibits labor mobility and saddles American industry with costs that are driving it (see: Detroit) into insolvency. And he supports lower corporate and marginal tax rates to encourage entrepreneurship and job creation. An eclectic, moderate, generally centrist agenda in a guy almost congenitally given to bipartisanship.

POPSI Have Learned I HAVE LEARNED that sometimes when I'm angry I have the right to be angry, but that doesn't give me the right to be cruel. I HAVE LEARNED that it's hard to determine where to draw the line between being nice and not hurting people's feelings and standing up for what you believe. I HAVE LEARNED that money is a lousy way of keeping score. I HAVE LEARNED that sometimes when my friends fight, I'm forced to choose sides even when I don't want to. I HAVE LEARNED that if you want to cheer yourself up, you should try cheering someone else up. I HAVE LEARNED that it's taking me a long time to become the person I want to be. I HAVE LEARNED, reading what people write on desks (or clips) can teach you a lot. I picked some, that were relevant to me. There are many more at the source. Oh, and last but not least; I HAVE LEARNED never try to baptize a cat. And I have photo evidence to prove it.. .:)
